Farmer’s Markets are becoming more and more popular. Have you visited one yet? If not, here’s five reasons you should:
1. Support local small businesses and farmers.
By shopping at a farmer’s market you are supporting the small business owners in your local economy. Whether they’re making crafts, growing gorgeous fruits and veggies, cutting fresh meats or baking up delicious breads; you’ll find that there is a lot of talented people in your local area.
2. Fresh finds!
Fresh veggies, fresh grass-fed meats, fresh baked goods…always taste better and are better for you! You can always ask each vendor where their product comes from. For most of them it is right out of their back yard.
3.Gorgeous local blooms.
These peonies came straight from a local field, full of 300 other blooming Peony Plants…can you imagine how beautiful that is?!
4.Fun in the sun.
Many local farmers markets have live music, food trucks and events for the kids. Making hitting one on a Saturday or Sunday morning a fun event for the whole family.
5. Education
Shopping at a farmer’s market helps you know what produce is currently in season in your local area! Also, many of the farmers love to share what they know about their products and their favorite recipes!

Farmers’ Markets are the best! Our town has one every Wednesday from May to October. We actually go quite often! My kids love the cookies from the Amish stand. And their bread is amazing! Great post!

We’ve gone occasionally, but a couple of markets around town are disappointing. We go for the produce & it seems like some are being overrun with other food & services…but I guess if you think of it as supporting local business, it shouldn’t matter. Thanks for a different perspective!

I love shopping at our local farmers’ market! In fact, I try to purchase all of our produce from there, as I enjoy knowing it is local and fresh.
I do love shopping at the local farmers market too. I have one down the street from my house all year round and love it.

If I have time, I prefer to shop the farmer market. Everything tends to be fresher and taste better from there.

I am a fan of farmers markets, but rarely go to them…we should go more often, I always end up getting way too much because it all looks so good, and then end up wasting it…boo!
I personally have a friend who sells her ginger beer at a local farmer’s market so I do visit all the time, and I love the fresh offerings I find there every time!

I love going to the farmer’s market, and I’m so lucky that there are several awesome ones near me. I went to one over the weekend and got some delicious fruits and veggies. I wish I had picked up some flowers though… next time!

Such cute photos from the farmers market! I love going on the weekend to get meal inspiration for the week to come. It’s fun to let the ingredients inform the cooking. And yeah, I usually walk home with a bouquet of local blooms too!
