There is a whole lot of Old Navy going on in this post. I go through phases of loving Old Navy and hating Old Navy, but lately, it’s been love. I’ve ordered a lot this month and for the most part, returned almost all of it, except for these Old Navy finds. Hang tight girls, I’m going to tell you what I loved and didn’t love this month.
Fall Fashion Loves
Aside from some of the other recent buys I’ve already mentioned on the blog, I’ve been stocking up on basics.
1. Basic Bell Sleeve Tops – These Old Navy bell sleeve tops are so soft! They’re very thick too, which isn’t something you always get from Old Navy. I ordered the striped one first and then went back for the burgundy one. If I’m being honest I wanted one in every color, but decided to practice a little self control.
2. Pixie Pants Stock Up – I mentioned last year that I loved Old Navy’s Pixie pants for work. I only work a couple days a week (ok, one day a week), so I don’t get dressed for it often and I don’t like to invest a lot in my work attire. I’m all about dresses in the summer, but come cooler temps I reach for these Pixie pants. They fit great and don’t need to be hemmed, in ankle length, which ends up being regular length on me! Fair warning, they do not wash well. For that reason, I use something like Dryel and “dry clean” them at home.
3. Floppy Hat – I’m not a huge hat girl, but I’ve wanted a big floppy hat for fall since last year. I finally bought one! Will I be brave enough to wear it, only time will tell.
4. Long Cozy Cardigan – Y’all I don’t know what to call these…dusters, boyfriend cardigan, long cardigan….I dunno. Can you tell how far my fashion savviness goes? Whatever you call them, I’m over here like, one in every color please? The prospect of wearing leggings under these bottom covering cardigans gives me all the excitement! This one from Old Navy is soft like my favorite Halogen friend, but way cheaper!
Returns
1. Booties – I have been on a major bootie hunt. I have a pair from last year that I love, but I damaged them in the rain last year, so I’ve wanted to replace them. I ordered these Steve Madden open toe booties and love love loved them! The sad part, they were way too big for me. So back they went. Then I ordered this pair from Nordstrom, thinking they would be great for everyday wear. Don’t get me wrong, these Lucky Brand booties are cute, but they just didn’t look good on me. I realized after trying them on, that with my short legs, I really need a heel with booties for the extra length. If you can’t tell my bootie hunt has been unsuccessful, so in the meantime, I’ll be wearing my favorite flats on repeat and searching for a solution to the water damage on the booties I already have.
2. Pumps – I also ordered this pair of grey suede pumps. They were way too big and a lot darker than I wanted. So back they went! I’m still searching for a pair of light grey suede pumps, but if I don’t find them, I wont be too sad about it.
3. Peplum Top – I ordered this peplum top from Nordstrom with high hopes. I really wanted the amber striped version, but of course, it was sold out in my size. So, I opted for the white in xxs petite. It was huge and thin. Totally not worth it’s price tag. So, back it went!
4. Shift Dress – My hips couldn’t handle this shift dress. I wanted to love it, because it was a really nice fabric, like the bell sleeve tops I love, but it just kept sticking to my hips and I wasn’t a fan.
5. Fit and Flare Dress – I also wanted to love this dress, but it was just blah on me. It’s a cute basic, but it wasn’t the best fit up top, so back it went!
With everything I returned this month, I’m starting to think its a sign I should just stop shopping, haha! Although I returned a lot, I think what I kept will serve me well since most of them are nice and basic!

Oooh! I love these kinds of posts! We often talk about what we like but I love seeing what people return so I don’t make the same mistake! I’m glad to know the Old Navy Boyfriend cardigans are good. I stopped looking at Old Navy because it started to seem like the items just weren’t the same quality as what I could get for the same price elsewhere. But I wear boyfriend cardigans all the time in the winter for school and for a cardigan I’m just not going to pay $40 for a cardigan!

It’s a shame all your purchases didn’t work out, but better to return them and hold out for the things that make you happy! 🙂 Good luck with the ankle boot search! I bought a couple a few years back and they are still going strong – once you find them they are worth the wait!
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you are having a wonderful week so far 🙂

I spy lot of gorgeous burgundy pieces. I love all the shoes in this post. I placed a huge Loft order over the weekend but I soon need to head to an Express and Old Navy. Keep it stylish Brooke. Cannot wait to see everything on you!
Don’t you hate it when things don’t work out and you have such high hopes. I am ready to break out my hats too!

You’re the third person I’ve heard this week talking about the Pixie Pant- I need to check these out.
I love the Pixie Pant, I just waist they came with a higher waist. The bell sleeves are a cute trend. I don’t have anything with bell sleeves yet. Still looking!
I’ve loved the Harper pants from Old Navy. Definitely a great value and the fit has been great for me. I am going to try one of these cardigans…I’m on the hunt for the perfect one.

Yep, ON is so hit or miss. I’ve got some reward expiring on the 30th and a $15 off $50 coupon, so I’m heading in here in the next couple days. Wish me luck!
All the dresses are beautiful but my personal favorites are those purple shoes and hat.

I definitely need to hit up Old Navy soon then! It’s not a store that I visit often, but your picks definitely convinced me to give it a try!
Sending love from Napa Valley!

My feet are just so small! I’m normally a 4.5 and every now and then I get lucky with SM and they will run small. They are probably true to size in all reality! I ordered them in a 5.5 and I was swimming in them.
I haven’t tried the Harper pants but I was looking st them when I made my last order! I need to try them, I may even like them more than the pixie pants!
I’m not one for then huge bell sleeves but I loved the slight bell on the old navy top!
They’re great! Just don’t wash them! Haha!
I will add you! Would love to have you!
I do too! Same way with LOFT!
They are! Like a big ol cozy blanket! 😀
I have yet to wear it! But I want to!!
Ugh yes! And then because I shop so much online, it’s a hassle to ship it back or lug the boys to the store lol.
I loved the SM booties so much, I was so sad they were too big! Since writing this post I did find a pair at Nordstrom I loved. They weren’t the gray tone I was looking for, but they’re great!
That’s great! I have a pair from last year that I loved, but I beat them up so bad!
Haha! I think I’m getting there…but then again I’m easily persuaded to keep shopping!
Their jeans are my fav!
I’m ready!!
I feel you on that Virginia! Their quality can be so bad sometimes, it’s not worth the purchase. They stepped up their fabric this year I think, the tops I bought and the dresses are like a thicker ponte knit. It’s nice!
You’re welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
It really is! Sometimes it’s a nice surprise and other times not so much. I ordered a pair of booties that looked dark online and are actually a prettier lighter color in person! That was a win!
They’ve got a lot of cute things right now!
I’ve been thinking about going to Old Navy to browse all of their Fall goodies, especially since the kids need some new clothes, too! I am going to have to hit the store up soon, especially after reading this post!

I have not purchased anything from Old Navy in ages… my fave of your purchases was the striped dress.
Those bell sleeve tops are too cute! Perfect for fall!

Yes to wide brim hats! I never used to wear hats and now I have about 20! It took a while to get used to wearing them but now I love them. I just bought some red sock boots from Asos (the first pair had to go back because they were dirty!) and a red cold shoulder top. I’ve also bought a couple of animal motif sweaters. I love the bell sleeve tops!

I feel like I don’t know where to wear it! I just need to break it in and get used to being a hat lady, cause they’re so cute!
I need to wear mine! 😀
Thanks Jacqueline!
I love their kids clothes!! I end up gojng for the kids and leaving with something for myself!
