Every wardrobe needs a foundational basic t-shirt. They’re great on their own, but the layering possibiities and pairings are endless. Today I’m styling a relaxed long sleeve t-shirt from Target, six different ways.
1 Black T-Shirt 6 Ways
My Sizing: To help you compare your sizing with the size I’m wearing, I’m 4’10” and around 105lbs.
My black t-shirt is from Target (most of my t-shirts are). Their tees are inexpensive, wash and wear well and fit! Of course, the top could fit a little closer, but I’m ok with the relaxed feel. I’m wearing it in XS.

With a Duster Cardigan
Black on black with a jacket/sweater or button-down on top has become one of my go-to’s when I can’t think of anything to wear. The all-black base has a slimming and lengthening effect and makes it easier for someone as short as me to wear an oversized duster cardigan. My cardigan is from Target, it’s heavy and cozy – but definitely oversized. I have the sleeves rolled and I like that, but I always try to be transparent with you. If you don’t love longer sleeves, it may not be the sweater for you.

With a Moto Jacket
I love to wear black and brown together, especially with a little leopard involved to tie the two together. I’ve also been loving this moto jacket and have been wearing it every chance I get. I recently found a similar (affordable) option on Amazon if you want to snag the look without the price tag. The similar option isn’t leather and if you’re comparing the two in terms of quality they’re worlds apart – but the fit is similar. The sleeves are a little long (they hit me around my mid-hand), but really the sleeves are a little long on my Madewell jacket also.

With a Skirt
Since I already received some questions about this outfit – I wouldn’t wear this to work. I would wear this one to something like a date night, girls’ night out, or a holiday party. I’m showing it both with and without tights. The tights give it some warmth, but also some modesty with the short skirt. I’m wearing the skirt in XS and find it to run tts.

With a Sweater Blazer
Pair your basic black t-shirt with a sweater blazer and you have a great outfit for work. I’m still partial to my skinny pants for work, but you could also wear this combination with something like these cropped wide-leg trousers. If you want to add heels it would look great with wide-leg pants.

With Leggings
Last, the relaxed fit makes this top great for pairing with leggings as well. You may want to layer a longer cardigan, or button-down on top, or tie a a top around your waist for coverage in the back.
