10 Items 20 Outfits for Work

10 Items 20 Outfits is a series I’ve been running on my blog for the last few years. It’s a capsule style post made with 10 items you can mix and match into multiple outfits. These posts are often time intensive, so I tend to make them (or a capsule post) once a season. Instead of recreating a capsule wardrobe every season that has the same colors, I try to put together different color schemes and pairings so you can get more ideas. My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement of the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.

Blue Pants: Petite 00 – I find these pants to be true to size. They’re fully lined with a comfortable silky lining and they don’t wrinkle easily. I highly recommend them! Both the white and navy pants in this post are the same. If you’re looking for a full-length option you can wear with boots, both pairs come in this full-length option. Here is a less expensive option from LOFT.

White Pants: Petite 00 – The white pants are just like the navy pants. They have a side zip and are fully lined! They’re more of a stone/off-white which is easier to wear. They also come in a full-length option.

Wide-Leg Trousers: 25 Short – These trousers run small through the waist, so I recommend a size up in them. I’m wearing them in short in the post. They fit well with a low heel (1-2″) in short. Some colors are offered in extra short and that length would work well with flats. My pants are from last year, so the color may not be exact to the in-stock options. I believe “brown” is the closest color.

White Blazer: Petite 00 – I love the elegant fit of this blazer. It has a long modern length and a perfect fit through the arms and shoulders. The blazer is also well-lined like the matching pants.

Blue Blazer: Petite 00 – Again, this blazer is the same as the white blazer. It doesn’t wrinkle easily, is well lined and in particular I love the bright shade of blue.

Striped Lady Sweater: XS – This sweater doesn’t come in petite, but it has a surprisingly perfect fit. J.Crew tends to make their tops and sweaters with shorter sleeves (good for petites like me, not so good for average-size people). This sweater has great sleeve length and hits me at the hip. It runs small, so I went with XS instead of XXS.

Navy Top: Petite XXS – This top is soft and comfortable to wear. I love the sheer sleeves and small puffed shoulders.

White Top: XS – I’m often asked about my favorite t-shirts and although they don’t come in petite, Abercrombie has the best t-shirts around if you ask me. They’re often thick and have a nice slim fit that tucks into pants and jeans easily. The top in this post is thick ottoman – almost like a sweater.

Printed Top: XXS – This J.Crew Factory top doesn’t come in petite, so it’s a little bit roomy on me in XXS. It has puff sleeves that end at my wrist and a split neck (that doesn’t come with the annoying strings). I love that the print mixes so well with the colors in this capsule.

Green Sweater: XS – J.Crew Factory Teddie Sweaters have been a favorite of mine for years. They’re lightweight and come in multiple colors. I went with XS for a little more room in my sweater, but the sizing starts at XXS.

Accessories & Shoes

Although it doesn’t make for a ton of variety in the outfits, I tried to stick to a few different pairs of shoes for the post. I included four, but if I was going to pick just one of two I would choose the light neutral pumps and neutral loafers.
