Thank you LOFT for sponsoring this post.
I took a topic poll on Instagram earlier this week and the large majority of you wanted to see fall content! I also heard from several of you that you wanted tips for dressing for a warm fall, and ideas for things you can wear now and also wear later.
4 Outfits for Now and Later
Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love the dark, rich colors and all of the fun that comes with the season. Our fall tends to be pretty warm with temperatures in the 70-80 degree range. Often the mornings and evenings are cool and the days are warm. So, I think about layers in beautiful fall colors to accommodate the big swings in temperatures. Skipping the layers and choosing dresses and sleeveless or short sleeve tops in dark fall colors is a great way to start embracing the season now.
Sleeveless Printed Top Now
The first outfit is a pair of simple dark wash skinny jeans and a pretty ruffled top in a fall print. The top will keep you cool with jeans, but it can also be worn with a pair of dark-colored shorts or a dark skirt to keep you cool but give off a fall vibe. I know many of you will appreciate that these jeans aren’t distressed, which makes them great for also wearing to work in a casual work environment. They are very high-rise and hit me a tiny bit above my belly button. They have a 25″ inseam which you can see on me is a true full-length. I tend to mostly choose 24″ inseam jeans because I can easily wear booties with them, but this length works great with a flat shoe. They do run a little bit small, I’m wearing them in a size petite 24, but I think I would be more comfortable in a size 25 or maybe with the curvy version instead.

Sleeveless Printed Top Later
As the weather cools you can easily add a cardigan and mules, booties, or flats. This cardigan in particular is lightweight making it great for areas with mild fall weather. I’m wearing it in regular sizing, but I still think it fits well.

Plaid Dress Now
Another great thing to have in your closet for now and later is a long sleeve dress. If you choose one with light fabric, like the two I’m going to share with you – they’ll keep you cool now with the sleeves rolled up. Choose a long sleeve dress in a classic fall print like plaid or fall florals to keep it seasonal.

Plaid Dress Later
Later you can add a denim jacket and booties! I chose to keep the sandals for the picture to give an idea for places with really warm fall weather. Booties in 80-degree weather just aren’t fun.

Denim Dress Now
I’ve been seeing versions of denim dresses everywhere lately, I’ll take that as an indication they’re going to be popular for fall. I love that this one from LOFT is petite friendly and it’s made from soft chambray, rather than heavy denim, making it perfect to wear now and later.

Denim Dress Later
Throw on a cozy cardigan to rock this dress later. You could also just roll down the sleeves and wear it with a cute hat and booties!

Midi Skirt Now
This midi skirt works well for petites and is light and breezy for warm weather! My picture doesn’t show it, but the front is lined with buttons and there is a slight split at the bottom. I would wear this skirt now with a simple white top and sandals.

Midi Skirt Later
Later on I would add a denim jacket or a comfortable cardigan and booties with this skirt! If it’s warm where you are, skip the booties and go with sandals!
