Finding pants for work that don’t require hemming on my 4’10” frame is not an easy task. My perfect inseam is 24″ and while I can find several pairs of jeans in that length, it’s less prevalent in pants. To build this post I tried pants from nearly every retailer I could think of nailed down four styles that will work right from the store, no hemming! The fifth is almost cheating because it’s a pair of jeans, but I love wearing them to work!
One thing that’s important to me on this blog is finding clothes that don’t need to be tailored, of course, that’s always an option and you can’t beat the look of a tailored item, but if I can show you options that don’t require extra time and money, I think that’s best.

Fit Issues
When it comes to pants I have a couple of fit issues. The most obvious one is my height, but I’m also proportionately larger/curvier in my hips so I have a hard time finding pants that aren’t too tight there. Since these pants are for work, I don’t want them to be skin tight and not professional. If you’re curious how our sizing compares, I’m 4’10” around 105 pounds, and my bust, waist and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″.
J.Crew High Rise Cameron Pant
I’ll start with my favorite and top recommendation, the Cameron Pant from J.Crew. This pair is comfortable, well made, and is a great length! The fabric is stretchy, but not thin. They are considered high-rise, but I personally think they feel more like a mid-rise. Especially if you compare them to the pair I’m sharing next which has a much higher rise. I went up one size in this pair, they definitely run small.

LOFT Side Zip Pant
This is another skinny option and a pair I’ve worn frequently on the blog in my work outfit posts. This pair has a higher rise and is a stretchy blend of leggings and pants. They come in both regular and curvy and I prefer the curvy fit. They’re true to size for me. I like to wear these pants the most with tops that don’t need to be tucked in, the waistband is a little bulky looking with a tucked-in top.

LOFT Size Zip Kick Crop Pants
These pants also come in a kick crop style that I like! The pair I’m wearing here is the regular fit, but it’s a little bit tighter than the curvy fit and I overall find the curvy fit to be more comfortable. You can find this style of pants in this post also.

J.Crew Hayden Pant
The Hayden Pant is another great option for Petites and has a fun flared leg. If you compare this pair to the LOFT kick crop, the fabric is heavier and nicer, but the flare is a little more dramatic. I find all J.Crew pants to run a little small on me, so I sized up in this pair. The rise is lower and more comfortable in comparison to the LOFT pair. They are more expensive, but often go on sale and are similar in price to LOFT’s kick crop when on sale.

Madewell Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans
If jeans are an option for you at work, this is one of my favorite pairs to wear. This one and the cali demi-boot version! I wear them in both white and black, but when it comes to a pair of white jeans – you can’t beat this pair! They’re not see-through at all!

As promised, I’m going to put together a capsule wardrobe for work very soon! I’m thinking maybe next week or the week after! We all have different dress codes for work, my capsule will land a little more in the business casual/casual zone because that is my personal dress code for work. If there’s something you want to be included in that capsule, send me a message and I’ll keep it in mind!
