Quince introduced an affordable line of organic cotton jeans earlier this year and I’ve been enjoying trying the styles and getting to know the ins and outs of their fit and care. In today’s post I’m reviewing the High-Rise Straight, Mid-Rise Straight, and High-Rise Kick Flare and how they fit petites.
I saw that wide-leg options are coming soon, so I’m excited to try those and report back when they come out.

$50 Organic Cotton Jeans
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
They don’t carry petites, but they offer inseam options in most styles. The three I’m sharing today come in both a 26″ and 28″ inseam; I found the 26″ to work well for me. All three styles have the same soft stretch denim that doesn’t bag out with wear. I would consider these jeans to be lightweight. They hold you in but aren’t overly compressive. All three come in light, dark and black.
Stretch High Rise Straight Jeans
- 10″ Rise
- 26″ Inseam
- 7.5″ Leg Opening
- True to Size
I’ll start with my top pick, the Stretch High Rise Straight Jeans. This pair is my favorite because of the overall style and fit. I love the high-rise, the 10″ rise hits me at the belly button but is still comfortable thanks to the soft stretchy denim. The 26″ inseam comes to the top of my foot making them a perfect length for wearing with boots.
Leg Opening
When it comes to wearing straight jeans with boots, the leg opening matters. If they’re too slim, they won’t easily glide over the top of your boots the way that straight jeans are meant to be worn with boots. This style has a 7.5″ leg opening which works well with boots. To compare, the mid-rise style in this post has a narrow 6″ leg opening, which doesn’t pair as well for me.
Pocket Size & Placement
The High-Rise Straight has the widest pocket of all three styles, which is the most flattering on my shape. The size and placement of pockets on jeans is dependent on your personal shape. I’m wide through my bottom so I prefer jeans with larger pockets.

Mid-Rise Straight
- 9″ Rise
- 26″ Inseam
- 6″ Leg Opening
- True to Size
Many petites have a short torso and a mid-rise is a must! This mid-rise pair has the same soft, stretchy denim and a 26″ inseam. As I mentioned before, this style has a narrow 6″ leg opening, so they’re a slim straight style. They have the same inseam as the high-rise pair, but the slim opening makes it tricky to pair this style with boots. They work well with flats, but with boots they bunched, making them look too long. If you’re more like 5′ I think this pair is still a good option for you.

High-Rise Kick Flare
- 9.5″ Rise
- 26″ Inseam
- True to Size
The High-Rise Kick Flare have a 9.5″ rise, which may be a nice middle ground behind high and mid for petites. This style is fitted through the hips and thighs with a very subtle flare at the ankle. I love a cropped flare, they’re an easy pairing with boots. This pair has slightly smaller pockets that are set further apart than the High-Rise Straight.
