This post is sponsored by Burt’s Bees®, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
I love trying new beauty products, but I wouldn’t consider myself a connoisseur of cosmetics. My routines tend to be simple and my experimenting of new things sticks to trying new things in my comfort zone, like a new mascara or blush. Sometimes you don’t even know what part of you, you’ve been neglecting, until you pay it a little mind. For me, that one area is my lips. After trying the products I’ll be sharing in this post – I think it’s high time that changed.
Softer Lips with Burt’s Bees®
My poor lips have only seen a little lip balm and lipstick here or there – never an exfoliating scrub, or moisturizing mask. I love taking care of my skin in general, so why not my lips? When I was in Target the other day and spotted the sale on Burt’s Bees® (10% off all Burt’s Bees items from 10/7 – 10/13) I figured it was worth giving a few new products a try, so I picked up a moisturizing lip mask, conditioning lip scrub, and several tinted lip balms, to compare color.
Burt’s Bees® Moisturizing Lip Mask
To make things even more fun, I made a video of my first try of each of these products. First thing I tried is the Burt’s Bees® Moisturizing Lip Mask. You’ll see in the video this pouch comes with a single use mask, in the shape of lips, that you apply to your lips, let sit for five minutes and rub in any excess product. From the first try, my lips felt so deliciously soft – but I didn’t even realize how much better they looked, until I started editing that video! The mask is 100% natural and formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS or petrolatum. All the things I know and love about Burt’s Bees® products. The mask is infused with Meadowfoam Seed and Almond Oil – and I would use it again! Next time, I’ll be sure to wipe more of the excess oil off of my face, after using it, but it really did soften and improve the appearance of my lips.
Burt’s Bees® Conditioning Lip Scrub
Where has this product been all my life? As the girl who aspired to wear matte lip color, yet couldn’t figure out why it never looked good on me – my dry and un-exfoliated lips is why! This lip scrub is made with honey crystals and exotic oils to buff away dry skin and moisturize your lips. It is 100% natural. The scrub is another product you just apply, buff in, and leave on. (You can wipe away excess crystals if they don’t buff in). I’m a changed girl, and lip exfoliation will now be just as important to me as skin exfoliation.
Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
Now, the icing on the cake – tinted lip balm. I’m going to go ahead and admit that I am the absolute worst at picking out lip color. I can’t tell you how many lip sticks I’ve purchased, only to find that the color is just not for me. So, when it came to the balms, I purchased several to try. The colors I chose are all beautiful and subtle, I ended up loving them all. The balms are also 100% natural, hydrating, and will be coming along with me in my purse from here on out. I’ll start with my favorite colors and work my way down.
Red Dahlia Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
Hibiscus Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
Pink Blossom Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
Zinnia Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
Rose Burt’s Bees® Tinted Lip Balm
I ended up liking each of the colors in their own way, but Red Dahlia was my favorite! Although I stink at picking lip colors, I find that darker – blue tinted colors look best of me.
Burt’s Bees® Hand Cream
Ok, so this product is the honorable mention of the post. It doesn’t have a lot to do with lips, but it’s another great product I picked up from Burt’s Bees®! This new hand cream of theirs comes in a small tube, perfect for your purse – and is going to be a lifesaver when these hands of mine dry out this fall and winter!
Overall, I loved each product I tried, and will be incorporating these products in my current routine. These lips of mine will never be dry again! You can shop Burt’s Bees products through 10/13 to get 10% off at Target! If you’re like me, use their buy online, pick up in store option and save yourself some time!
