I went into Sephora the other day with the intention of stocking on some of my favorites. I had run out of finishing spray, eyeliner and mascara. I’m pretty tried and true with my finishing spray and eyeliner, but I was up to try something new when it came to the mascara. So, I asked for help. Anyone else feel like a Sephora makeup artist is the holy grail of information? They’ve tried nearly all the products, know which ones everyone is buying and they’re going to give you an honest opinion.
KUSH Mascara: Vegan Mascara
I was directed to try a cleaner beauty brand, MILK Makeup and their KUSH Mascara. Apparently it’s what everyone is buying for full, voluminous lashes. She mentioned it was a cleaner brand and that intrigued me since I’m trying to clean up things in my beauty routine. So, I went for it.
What’s Inside
Let’s talk about the ingredients first. This mascara, is free of parabens, phthalates and sulfates. It’s also vegan, fragrance free and silicone free. All the things that make me feel about using it around my eyes.
The formula also has cannabis oil in it to condition your lashes.
Application
The formula is thick, and the brush is very fluffy. I find I only really need on very light coat to get the desired effect. It absolutely lifts and curls my straight lashes, without using an eyelash curler. Here is a little comparison, one side with and one side without mascara.
You need to wipe the brush a few times before applying because it can lay on too thick in some areas. I applied it too heavy at times and clumped my lashes together.
Lasting Power
All day wear, without flaking! Seriously!
Overall Impression
I would buy it again! I really appreciate that it’s a cleaner brand, that actually performs. I’m looking forward to trying more from MILK Makeup.

I also recently started using a clean foundation and I can’t wait to share more about that with you soon!
