Business casual is a tough dress code for petites. Blazers that are too wide in the shoulders, pants that are too long – it can feel impossible. The most difficult thing for me to shop for is work attire, and by the amount of requests I receive for it, I can tell it’s hard for you too.
When it comes to a blazer that fits just right and the perfect pair of pants, I’ve had the best luck with LOFT Petites. In fact, they’re the only place I can find dress pants, that aren’t too long, or too tight in the thighs.
For today’s style post, I took a perfect fitting pair of black pants, and styled them multiple ways for the office – but I didn’t stop there. Since I love versatility and getting the most out of my wardrobe, I swapped the pants for jeans, but kept the tops, to create multiple casual outfits as well.
14 Mix and Match Business Casual to Casual Outfits
I worked with four layering tops, two cardigans, a blazer, and two pairs of pants for this style session. All together 9 items and I created about 14 outfits!
9 Mix and Match Petite Friendly LOFT Finds
High Rise Side Zip Leggings
These are the black pants you can see in the business casual outfits. They’re stretchy and comfortable, but still polished! They’re my new favorite pants for business casual outfits. I’m wearing the curvy fit in petite 00.
Light Wash Denim
To make each outfit casual I chose a light wash denim to swap in. All of these outfits would look great (and a little more dressed up) with a dark wash denim, but I love the light spring ready wash. The pair I’m wearing have a high rise and a chewed hem, which makes them a little bit shorter than most of LOFT’s petite jeans. For me, the length is perfect and I can’t wait to wear them in the spring and summer with sandals and wedges. I find them true to size and am wearing them in petite 24.
Dotted Ruffle Top Petite XXS
Y’all, I just love this little dotted top. I’ve only styled it three ways in the post, but it’s a top I will wear over and over again in so many ways. I’m wearing it in petite xxs and love the fit.
White Scoop Neck Tee
I chose a basic white scoop neck top to mix into this post. It’s a classic! This particular tee has a close fit, and a good amount of length. Tucked in, it gives the polished look of a bodysuit. I’m wearing a petite xxs.
Black Smocked Top
Like the dotted top, this black top is a versatile top I love having in my closet. The ruffled shoulders make it beautiful to wear on its own, but it also layers well. I’m wearing it in petite xxs and it tucks beautifully into pants and jeans.
Burgundy Smocked Cuff Top
I wanted to mix in another color top to show you what can go with the print of the blazer I styled, and this burgundy top stood out to me. From past experience, I knew this style runs a little short in the sleeves so I sized up one. It has a little puff at the shoulder that is cute all by itself, but I mostly layered it in this post. I’m wearing it in petite xs.
Drop Shoulder Cardigan
Y’all just loved the drop shoulder turtleneck I styled from LOFT last week, and this cardigan has a similar fit! I love neutral long cardigans and I appreciate the petite fit of this one. I’m wearing it in petite xxs.
Plaid Blazer
This blazer has a modern fit – and it fits me perfectly in the shoulders! The arm length is also really great. Another big plus, it’s thick and warm for the current cold temps. I’m wearing the blazer in petite 00.
Slouchy V-Neck Cardigan
I found another petite friendly v-neck cardigan! I love the light colors in this one and think they go perfectly with light denim. I’m wearing it in petite xxs.
