I had big plans for this post, but then most everything I ordered from Target and Walmart ended up being a total fail in terms of size. However, while a lot was really too big, I did find a few tops that I thought were pretty great so I decided to go forward with the post. I’ll even share what didn’t work for me at the bottom of this post in case you’re shopping around and are curious about fit.
Petite Friendly Walmart and Target Finds
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” around 105 pounds. I’m wearing an XS in all of the Target and Walmart finds.
Linen-Blend Top
I order a lot of my clothes online because most stores don’t carry Petites in-store, but Target is one place I’ll take a look around in-store. I wish you could try them on, but a quick hold it up to yourself in the mirror is all you can get. I saw this top and immediately thought it looked more expensive than it is. It also looked like it would fit so I brought it home and was pleasantly surprised. While it has a loose oversized fit, the v-neck isn’t too low and it’s cropped so it’s not long and overwhelming, I love it! It comes in several other colors too. My shorts are also from Target. I’ve shared them before but since this post is all about Target it’s only fitting to include them. I find them to be really comfortable, not tight in the thighs and they run true to size.

Ruffled Sleeveless Top
This top comes in other colors as well. I had my boys with me when I picked it out and they voted for the green one, but I almost chose the coral one. It’s a heavier fabric and looks great tucked and untucked. What I appreciate the most about it is the armholes aren’t crazy big. I have issues with Target tops being way too big in the arm holes. I styled it a few different ways below.

Puff Sleeve Top
I posted this one on Instagram along with a romper that was a total fail for me. It was so big it was comical, I don’t even think the picture showed just how big it was for me. This top, however, is a total win! It’s very well made and fully lined. It’s also 100% cotton. The nice fabrics that are used in the Free Assembly line at Walmart are something I really appreciate. It also comes in other colors.

Sizing Fails
I only show things that work on the blog, but a lot of you told me on Instagram it would be helpful to know the things that didn’t work for me. So of my Target and Walmart orders, here are the things that were just too big for me, you can scroll through to check them out!
Although it’s a little bit more hit or miss at Target and Walmart I’ll keep looking for those good finds! With many retailers adding extended sizing which I think is great, I would LOVE to see them also add smaller sizes for people like me and so many of you too!
