I think a denim jacket is something everyone should have in their closet. It’s a classic that you’ll wear over and over again through the seasons! In particular I love wearing my denim jacket in the spring and summer, yes even in the heat of the summer. Denim jackets make a great layer for cooler summer evenings or indoor situations with chilly A/C.
Today I’m sharing four outfits with a denim jacket from LOFT that has a summer-ready wash and a great petite fit. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and it fits well. Not too tight in the arms and not too long in the sleeves or too wide in the shoulders – it’s perfect! I roll the sleeves because I like the way it looks, not because they’re too long. Since I consider a denim jacket to be something you’re going to take off in the summer when you’re outside in the heat, these outfits all look great on their own as well.
Four Denim Jacket Outfits with LOFT
White Summer Dress
This little white dress is perfect if you ask me. It’s fully lined (so not see-through) and has tie straps that are adjustable. At 4’10” it hits me about an inch above my knee and it has a roomy fit that will keep you cool and breezy! It looks great with a pair of comfortable flat sandals, but you could also dress it up with wedges or summer heels.

Printed Dress
Clearly, a denim jacket looks great with a dress since I’ve used that combination twice. This dress has a really cute tiered skirt and a pretty summer print. The fabric is light and breezy and the straps are adjustable to a great fit. The back also has some smocking for an accommodating fit. The dress hits me at the knee. The longer length would also make this dress great for work with a white blazer.

Pull-On Shorts
I have become quite a fan of the comfortable pull-on shorts trend. These shorts in particular are fully lined, and fit me well in Petite XXS. I paired them with a comfortable relaxed-fit tank top. I’m wearing regular XXS in that top because it doesn’t come in petite. It still fits well in the regular size but the armholes are a little large and I need a cami underneath.

Mini Skirt
Denim jackets are just as cute with a skirt as they are with a dress. I picked this skirt in regular sizing because I prefer a longer length. I also sized up to XS so the waistband wouldn’t be tight, but I really could have worn the XXS. Otherwise, it’s a well-made, fully-lined skirt with pockets! The top I put with it is also well-made and on the thicker side. The v-neck fits me perfectly in Petite XXS.

The possibilities don’t end there with a denim jacket. They go with just about anything and everything and remain one of the most worn things in my wardrobe!
