I don’t know about you, but I could use a little sunshine. I don’t have a tropical vacation planned personally, but I know from talking with you, many of you do! By request, I’ve rounded up a few petite-friendly resort wear options. Many of these are from Amazon and ship Prime to get you ready for your trip in a pinch.
Petite Friendly Resort Wear
Amazon Dresses
This dress is a perfect maxi length on me. The straps are adjustable and the smocking keeps the dress in place, despite having to wear a strapless bra with it. It’s unlined but it’s not thin and see-through. I’m wearing it in a size small.

It’s probably the combination of my winter white skin and the fact that my camera overexposed this white dress, but the picture and video don’t do it justice. You’ll have to trust me that it’s amazing! I was so impressed with this dress in terms of quality and fit. It’s lined so it’s not see-through in white, but it also comes in other colors. I’m wearing it in a size small. On Amazon, this dress hits under the knee on the model, so she’s probably a foot taller than me, haha. It’s an inch or so above my ankle. Also, I’m not even caring that you can clearly see my self-timer remote in my hand in this picture – perfection is overrated.

Admittedly, orange is not my color, (maybe if I put on a little self-tanner first ) but this dress is darn cute! It comes in other colors and I’m going to swap mine for a different one. This dress is also not lined, but the material isn’t see-through or thin. It’s soft and comfortable and I could see it making a great resort or beach vacation dinner dress. I’m wearing it in a size small.

The last dress I ordered in white and teal, but the white one is definitely see-through. You could use it as a swim coverup, but if you want to wear it as a dress I would go with a different color. This dress is silky and flowy and a little bit longer in the back than it is in the front. It wrinkles fairly easily, so be aware of that.

Skirts and Shorts

Maxi Skirt
I have this skirt pulled up a little higher on my waist to wear with flat shoes and it just skims the ground. I think it’s a great look for a resort or the beach, but I also wear it with heels to get a more walkable length. The top is an old friend I bought from J.Crew last year. It was one of my favorite shirts to wear over the summer. It’s breathable and comfortable and has a longer length that is great over bathing suits.

Denim Shorts
As spring and summer get closer I will do a round-up style post of shorts so if you’re into a different style, don’t worry I’ll have more! This pair is from Pink Lily and reminds me of a popular more expensive pair (looking at your AGOLDE Parker shorts). They’re high rise, but soft so it’s not restricting and uncomfortable. I’m wearing them in a size small, which is a size up for me and they’re a little oversized and comfortable in this size. They’re also really flattering in the back, with no awkward ride-up or pockets that sit way too high. Some shorts in this style miss the mark there, so I wanted to point that out. The sweater is a great beach sweater. It’s open-knit so you can wear it over a bathing suit, but you can also add a cami and wear it out.

Skort
This skort is so cute, fits well, and is also really comfortable – I highly recommend it! I’m wearing it in XS and can’t wait for warm weather to wear it.
