Last spring and summer I had numerous requests for special occasion dresses/outfits. The beautiful spring weather always brings lots of celebrations, weddings, baby/bridal showers, graduations, outdoor festivals, and concerts – the list goes on! So, this year I’m setting out to give you options all through the season. In this first post I found a few petite-friendly dresses from Nordstrom I think you’ll love. None of these dresses are actually petite, but they go down to a size XXS which worked well for me. The shoes are also from Nordstrom, I’ve always appreciated their large selection of affordable size five (and sometimes under) shoes.
Spring Dresses by Occasion
For sizing reference, I’m 4’10” and around 105lbs. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Wedding Guest
The dress code varies widely when it comes to weddings, so I know this dress may not be an option for every event. To me, this dress would be well suited for a spring or summer outdoor wedding. I’m wearing this dress in XXS and it fits well. Notes on the shoes, they run true to size, but the heel is very high! They’re beautiful, but don’t expect to walk comfortably in them for an extended amount of time.

Baby or Bridal Shower
I love this dress so much. It’s so beautiful and feminine and fits very well. Although it is meant to be a midi dress, it is definitely maxi length on me, but that’s pretty much how I always find maxi dresses that work without hemming. It is fully lined, and I wouldn’t consider it see-through, but you’ll want to make sure you wear nude undergarments with it. It would make a great dress for a bride-to-be or momma-to-be. The empire waistline would work well with a bump.

Graduation Dress
I almost feel like I’m too old to write about graduation dresses, but I get asked for this quite often – so here we are! This dress is cream and while I thought of graduation, it would be perfect for a bride-to-be as well. I could see a Nashville Bachelorette party with cowboy boots with this one! I’m wearing it in XXS and it fits well overall. It is fully lined with a sheer overlay. The wedges are true to size. The front strap is a little snug, but it stretched with me just wearing it around my house so I don’t think that’s a long-term issue.

Outdoor Festival/Concert
I had to give each of these dresses an event, but this dress is just cute as can be and would be great for many different spring and summer occasions. This dress fits well overall in X-Small.
