It may or may not quite be swimsuit season yet for you – but the requests have started to roll in. So, today I’m rounding up my top picks for one-piece swimsuits and a few petite-friendly swim coverup options.
When it comes to my personal choice with swimsuits and coverups, I’m looking for modesty overall and something that’s easy to move around in. I’m a mom of two boys so being able to move around without flashing the world is important to me. I also always wear a hat, despite the fact that most hats look a little big on me – I love the sun, just not on my face.
Petite-Friendly Swimsuits and Coverups
Ruffle Coverup
This coverup comes in both black and white. It’s roomy and dips down a little in the back to show off your suit. I appreciate the tie straps for adjustability. I’m wearing it in XXS.

Wrap One Piece Swimsuit
The swimsuit I’m wearing under the Ruffle Coverup is this wrap one-piece suit from Aerie. I’ve had mine for a few years and love it! It comes in other prints and solid colors as well. I sized up in this suit to a small for more coverage in the back. It is a full-coverage suit in the back as well.

Maxi Swim Coverup
My favorite coverup of the bunch is this maxi-length one from Target. I was fully surprised that it fit me without dragging the ground and I feel like an actual grown-up in it. If you’re petite like you me, you know what I mean by that – coverups tend to make me feel and look like a little kid thanks to my height. I’m wearing it in S/M and it fits me well.

Strapless One-Piece Swimsuit
I’m wearing this one-piece suit under the coverup above. I bought this one last year and can attest to multiple comfortable wears in it. It’s my top pick for comfort and being able to move around in. Nothing pops out and it has great coverage in the back. I’m just not all about those cheeky bathing suits. It has detachable straps, I personally prefer to wear one strap like a halter.

Classic White Button Down
My most worn coverup in the summer is an oversized white gauzy top. I’ve yet to find a “shirt coverup” that isn’t huge, so I opt for an oversized shirt instead. This one is from Target and I’m wearing it in XS. If you go up a size you may get even more length from it.

Floral One-Piece
This suit is thick and well made and not see-through in white. I recommend sizing up in it. It’s modest overall, but it does have the least booty coverage of the suits I’m wearing in this post.
