One of my favorite things about fall is the outerwear! Of course, we’re a little ways away from pulling out super warm jackets, but it has already started to cool off in the mornings here this week where a light jacket is great. So, today I’m sharing my top picks for outwear options for early fall. As always, they’re all petite-friendly!
Camel Blazer
If you have a need for a blazer in your wardrobe and only want to buy one – go with a camel one! It’s neutral and can easily be dressed up and down. My all-time favorite in terms of fit and quality is the J.Crew Parke Blazer, but here is another camel option that is less expensive if you catch it on sale. The J.Crew Factory Sweater Blazer is another great option, especially if your wardrobe is a little more relaxed.

Denim Jacket
In the fall I wear my denim jacket the most with dresses and colored bottoms like black and white jeans. It’s a great light layer for cooler mornings and warm afternoons. My favorite denim jackets are typically from LOFT, they have the best fit all around. This one, in particular, has a dark wash that’s great for fall with a little bit of stretch to it. I plan to feature this dress in another post to show it without the jacket, it has beautiful sleeves!

Light Rain Jacket
Wear this one on a rainy day or any day you need a laid-back light layer. It comes in other colors and fits me well in Petite XXS.

Chore/Anorak Jacket
I have been styling an oversized rust chore jacket from Madewell lately on the blog. This one is lightweight, almost the same weight as a heavy shirt (shacket), and is very oversized and soft. If you’re looking for a thicker option, I tried this jacket from Target that is also a little oversized on me in XS.

Leather Jacket
As the weather cools down I’ll be pulling out my leather jacket. This is an investment piece for sure, but one I just love having in my closet.
