One thing I’ve noticed about denim trends this season is longer lengths in every style. The above-the-ankle look we’ve become accustomed to over the last few years is starting to evolve – not go away completely- but more full-length options are taking center stage. I’ve mentioned it before, but skinny jeans are still very much my favorite, but over the last couple of years I’ve become comfortable with slim straight jeans that hit at the ankle, but a full-length ’90s style straight is a style I’m still trying to get used to. I bought this pair of jeans from the Nordstrom sale and was surprised by how much I like them. To be fair, these jeans aren’t intended to be full-length jeans, they’re meant to be cropped. However, on me, they’re a perfect full-length ’90s style straight that can be worn with flats and heels. I also love this pair from Abercrombie for a less expensive option. In extra short, they should fit more like the pair I’m wearing in this post.

’90s Straight Leg Jeans Two Ways
Sizing Reference: I’m 4’10” and my typical size is 24/00/XXS Petite.
Although low-rise styles are also trending, the pair I’m styling is high-waisted. So, I would aim to wear them with a tucked-in top or a crop top to show off the waist.
With Heeled Mules – late summer
I feel the most comfortable in these jeans with something that is heeled. Since they’re a little wider than I’m used to wearing, heels make me feel like my legs look a little bit longer. These jeans are rigid and have a snug fit in the waist, but I personally bought them in my usual size (24). I love these heeled mules for early fall – they give a little more coverage, like a bootie but aren’t too hot. I don’t know about you but fall stays pretty warm where I live.

With Heeled Mules – Fall
This is how I first styled these jeans when I bought them from the Nordstrom Sale. Same shoes and bag from above, but I added a slim tank top and cozy cardigan that would be great for early fall.

With Flats
Heels are my top pick for pairing with these jeans, but flats work too! I tried on a few with them and found that I like a pair that shows a little skin the most.
