We’re all looking for something a little different in a swimsuit. My perfect swimsuit is a one-piece with support and coverage up top and full coverage in the back. No judgment here if you like something else, but I found a suit that fits the above criteria is what I enjoy myself in the most. I spend my summers at the pool and beach with my kids and out fishing on our boat (well, I am basically seasick on the boat while the boys fish, but at least I’m there). So, I’m looking for functional over sexy. If you’re like me, these swimsuits are for you!

Petite-Friendly One-Piece Swimsuits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Boden
Boden swimsuits are high quality and have details that I love, like sewn-in pads/cups at the chest. They’re also designed to look great but still be modest and full-coverage.
U-Bar Suit
The U-Bar Suit has a “u-bar” detail at the chest, removable straps, and light shelf support at the chest. There are sewn-in pads at the chest for a smooth finish. When I refer to cups/pads on the swimsuits, I’m talking about those light pads that are often removable in a swimsuit, not a full-support bra cup. I wear this swimsuit in a size 2, which fits me well overall.
Bandeau Swimsuit
The Bandeau Swimsuit can be worn strapless or with adjustable straps. It has a buckle detail at the chest and the same sewn-in cups as the U-Bar suit. Just a heads up: I love this swimsuit, but its open-back detail puckers out a bit on me (I’m assuming due to my height). There is a matching skirt to this swimsuit that fits well in petite, with a low heel (if you’re similar in height to me).
The Santorini Swimsuit
The Santorini Swimsuit’s design draws in the waist for a flattering fit. It has boning at the sides of the chest, light sewn-in cups, and silicone grips at the top for support. It also comes in multiple colors and prints.

Albion Fit
I bought my first Albion Fit Swimsuit when my oldest son was a toddler (yikes 10 years ago). I wanted something I could pick him up in without worrying about the top falling down. I chose this wide strap option; to this day, it is a favorite of mine to wear. There are dupes of this suit on Amazon, but don’t be fooled, they may look similar, but they are not the same. Albion Fit suits are functional, fit well, and don’t get all loose when they get wet. I love the prints and different designs they offer, even some options with sleeves.
Natalie One Piece
The Natalie has adjustable tie-up straps and a scoopback. I love the wider cut across the thighs (as opposed to some of the skinny high-leg styles that show off the creases of your lady parts that are popular currently.) It comes in multiple prints and starts at a size XXS. I’m wearing it in XS and it has a great fit. The cups are removable on this swimsuit. If you need support at the chest, this swimsuit may not be the best one for you, it is lacking there.
Mimi Swimsuit
The Mimi has stretch ruffle straps and removable cups at the chest (there is still light support with this one). I’m wearing it in Costa Floral, but it comes in several print options. There is also a two-piece option if you prefer that. I’m wearing it in XS, but it starts at XXS.
J.Crew Factory
A swimsuit so good I bought it in multiple colors. This strapless suit has shelf support with removable pads. It can be worn strapless or with adjustable straps. My favorite part about this swimsuit is the ruching across the torso! This suit starts at XXS and I’m wearing it in XS.
