Under $75 Summer Dresses

I’ve had numerous requests lately for less expensive options, and I hear you! It’s not always easy to find petite-friendly finds in the budget category (especially for pants and jeans), but I’ve been able to round up a few great summer dresses. This post has four dresses under $75, but stay tuned for a post with even more options under $50.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

The first three dresses in the post are from J. Crew Factory. At the time of posting, they were each around $60, but the prices at J. Crew Factory fluctuate often with sales, so keep an eye on them. Another thing to note about J. Crew Factory is that their items tend to sell out quickly, especially in petite, so if you love it—don’t wait! I personally find J.Crew Factory dresses to have a great petite fit, and they are almost always true to size.

Chambray Dress

The first dress on my list has a great petite fit all around. I find the dress to be true to size overall, but it has a close fit on me through the waist/chest and ribs. So you may want to size up in the dress if you need more room there. There are adjustable straps and smocking at the back to allow for some stretch, but overall, the dress has no stretch.

Seersucker Dress

Seersucker is a quintessential fabric for summer. It’s lightweight, so it will keep you cool and has that classic summer look. This dress has a halter style neck, elastic stretch waist and a full skirt. I find this dress to be true to size overall. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS for reference.

Shirt Dress

I have this dress in both petite and regular sizing and find that I prefer the overall length of the regular dress. They both fit well through the body, but the petite dress did shrink some in the wash and feels a little too short to actually move in. The dress has functional buttons at the chest, a drawstring waist to cinch it to your size and pockets! J. Crew Factory is always bringing it with the pockets. Amazon Dress

Admittedly, I’ve never been good at shopping on Amazon. There are so many options, questionable quality and overall questionable sizing for petites. However, after numerous requests, I’ve been challenging myself to dig deep and find some petite-friendly options. I’m happy to say I have successfully found a few things that fit my criteria for fit and overall quality. This dress is one of them! The dress has tie straps that help with the length, stretch at the chest, and a lined skirt. Like most Amazon items, this dress comes in multiple colors, but I can only vouch for this light floral option that I have personally tried. For size reference, I’m wearing it in a size small, and it fits well overall.
