Abercrombie released a few new denim styles this season that I haven’t yet given a thorough review. Today I’ll be sharing the good and bad of a few styles I tried; High-Rise Vintage Straight, Low-Rise Baggy, and High-Rise Vintage Flare. In all of my denim reviews I share my sizing for comparison as well as the measurements of each pair of jeans. I take the measurements from the size I’m wearing. Keep in mind that inseam measurements can go up as the sizes go up.

New Abercrombie Jeans Review
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
High-Rise Vintage Straight
- Rise: 11″
- Inseam: 24″ in extra short/ 26.5″ in short
- Fit: Size down
- Fabric: rigid denim that loosens with wear
On the model these jeans are shown full-length, to the top of the foot, but I found I like them with a little crop as well. In extra short, the 24″ inseam is a cropped length and in short, the 26.5″ inseam is full-length like it’s shown on the model. These jeans are a loose relaxed style, I recommend a size down for the best fit, unless you want a relaxed fit. The medium wash jeans I’m wearing are shown in my true size (24) in extra short and the gray jeans are shown in a size down (23) in short. The jeans loosen with wear as well.

High-Rise Vintage Flare
- Rise: 10.5″
- Inseam: 29.5″ in short (I need a low heel to wear these)
- Fit: true-to-size, the jeans loosen with wear but are tight at first.
- Fabric: rigid denim that loosens with wear
I have reviewed the High-Rise Vintage Flare jeans before, but not in short. I was able to snag them in extra short over the summer and they’re a perfect length for wearing with flats. Since I wear a lot of heeled boots in the fall and winter I felt it was worth trying them in short as well. The jeans are tight when you first put them on and after the wash, but they loosen quite a bit with wear. So I would still consider these true-to-size.

Low-Rise Baggy
- Rise: 10″
- Inseam: 27″ in extra short
- Fit: Size down, runs large
- Fabric: rigid denim
If you want to try baggy jeans, I think this pair works best in a size down. In my true size they were falling down too much, but a size down has a good fit around my hips so they hold up. They’re a roomy and loose rigid denim style. The 10″ rise doesn’t quite seem like a low-rise, but they slouch on you so the rise sits lower.
