Lies we tell our children, the little white ones, that we think will influence their behavior. I’m sure you remember your parents telling you a fib or two growing up. Maybe the whole, don’t make that face or it will stick that way or if you eat watermelon seeds a watermelon will grow in your belly. Of course, we were told those things so we wouldn’t make weird faces and choke on watermelon seeds.
I’m finding with my very opinionated three-year old that sometimes these lies are necessary to keep him from harming himself or ya know get him to eat his vegetables. According to him, mom doesn’t know what’s best and despite being told not to do something, he will do it anyway unless the reason why is substantial enough. So, when he asked me why he couldn’t eat candy for dinner, I told him it was because candy, instead of veggies for dinner, will make you sick and put you in the hospital. The reason that you won’t grow strong and tall like daddy wasn’t good enough. Duh, the tradeoff of staying small and eating candy for all three meals is a sacrifice he’s willing to make. Being big is overrated anyway.
I try to keep these little fibs to a minimum or at least not make them too scary. My dad was famous for telling me weird little lies as a child that I still remember today. According to him, when trees would drip, it was caterpillars peeing on you and if you walked on railroad ties without shoes, your feet would fall off. To this day I don’t walk on railroad ties, not because I think my feet will fall off for real, but that fear was so engrained in my being, that I just can’t do it. Thanks dad.
I will tell you, I love this top. It’s neutral, comfortable and makes me feel fabulous just by putting it on! We’re also almost totally sold out of this cutie, so snatch it up quick if you love it too.

I am raising a teen, so she has all of the little white lies figured out by now(: I love this tank!! It looks great in each style photo! Silly question – what type of bra do you wear with a tank like this? Have a great day and thanks for the link up! Susan
That Navy cami and boyfriend jeans are so cute in you!! Oh I can relate to this post and I actually used to use the candy will make you sick. Funny thing is they don’t even like candy that much now. Lol

Such a pretty navy camisole, Brooke! =)
My parents used to call milk ‘moo juice’ so we would think we were drinking juice. Ha! I love this navy top! It’s so versatile and the flowy fit is perfect for summer!
Oh yes, those silly white lies. No matter how crazy they were, I would still believe them. After all it was coming from my parents, whom I trusted. Now I realize how gullible I was. Love this simple top. It seems so versatile. You can wear it by itself or layer it. It looks great with the necklace.
Love this chic casual look on you. The color of the top is fabulous (-: xx, Conni
Love the tank! I always think things like this look so flattering on others, but always avoid them because I HATE strapless bras. I am on a mission to find one I like this summer so I can wear tanks. And hey, veggies matter so you gotta do what you gotta do, right? 😉

Susan, I’m wearing a strapless bra, but I’ve seen ladies wear their bra racerback with a top like this, if the straps are the same color as the top. 🙂

I love your sunglasses! I’m sure my parents told me white lies, but I don’t remember them. The only ones I remember are the ones that were obviously lies so I never believed them, even as a kid!
I love how the necklaces everyone is wearing with this top stand out so much. The back of it is really different, too, what a fun top!

My mom used to tell me that if I touched alcohol or cigarettes I would go to hell. While I drink wine here and there for a longtime I believed it and I don’t smoke so haha silliness!

A fib here and there won’t hurt. Sometimes I feel like kids don’t listen unless you have an obscure reason why they can’t do something. This post is cute and takes me back when my parents would fib to me! P.S. I love your outfit!
