Do backseat drivers…drive you crazy? You know, your mom as a passenger who is pushing her invisible brake peddle or making big gasps that make you jump out of your seat. Or, your husband who points you in the right direction to a place you drive weekly and then asks you to slow down, speed up, get over, etc.
They’re my favorite. You want to know what’s even more fun? When your three-year-old is the back seat driver. Mr. M has quite the fascination with things that go. So much so that he is already a professional driver of all things that have wheels, without ever stepping foot in a driver’s seat.
Each trip we take goes a little like this…
“Go this way” – pointing left when we clearly need to go right. Then once I turn right, “why you going this way?”, “you go the other way!” Then a meltdown ensues.
“Why you stopping?” at a red light. To which I reply, “Because sweet boy, the light is red.” Then he simply states, “go.” Then says it a little louder, over and over again. Anytime I slow with traffic the question is asked again.
If the trip is taking too long, “why you taking so long?” And my favorite is to be asked where we are going over and over again with the follow up why over and over again.
Sometimes I want to rip my hair out or put on headphones, but other times I just laugh. He sure is the cutest back seat driver around.

Oh the never-ending questions of a three year old. If he’s anything like my four year old nephew, they’re not slowing down anytime soon. And your white dress is the perfect look for summer! Your hair is on point, too!
Lol! This is too funny! I don’t think it ever ends. My 6 year old constantly asks the infamous question “How much longer?” This dress is so pretty. I absolutely love a good white summer dress.

I can only imagine! Over the course of this year he went from saying a few things to nonstop following me around the house, “what you doing? can I have this? Im bored!” lol
My husband is notorious for this! But he also likes to direct me around even when we aren’t in the car, lol.
Thank you Jill!! I will repay him the favor when he starts driving I’m sure!
Thanks Monica!!
Thank you Carrie! I got this necklace in my Rocksbox this month and love it!
I’m always turning to him like, “Would you like to drive?” lol
Thank you sweet Ada!
He’s lucky he’s so darn cute, haha
Thanks a bunch Rachelle!!
Thanks Irene!! I wasn’t sure how I felt about it being so ‘roomy,’ but on a hot day, it’s perfect!

Oh yes, backseat drivers. I totally know what you mean. Love this white eyelet dress, the perfect dress for summer. And what a pretty and unique necklace! Have a great week, Brooke!
I hope you have a great week too Cynthia!!
Thanks Rebecca!!
Kids are just so funny. There was a little boy who was around 6 at the park the other day running around asking all of the kids how old they were, and ranked them by age. He of course was the king because he was 6 and much older and stronger than the others, haha!
Hehe backseat drivers are the worst. Pretty sure I did that to my mom when I was little. Love your LWD!

I still do it to her too, so I guess her pedal pushing is payback! lol
Thanks so much!
The gasps really get me, I’m jumping out of my seat like what?! and she just says oh you missed a turn, lol.
My mom grabs the handle on the side of the car every time, definitely gets distracting haha! My little nephew is a backseat driver too, he’s convinced he knows where he’s going!

I don’t really like driving, I always tell my husband to do it when we are both in the car. He drives ME nuts when he complains about my driving lol. In another note, you look absolutely gorgeous in that white dress! Love the necklace too.

What a great look! Love that dress and necklace. My husband is a backseat driver, I can not drive with him in the car!
Oh my goodness that is hilarious! My daughter has been the same way lately! Telling cars to go faster or telling me to drive on the grass or sidewalk…I had to explain to her that if mommy was a naughty driver then the policeman would give her a ticket and she would have to pay lots of money. Then we wouldn’t be able to go on vacation. She started crying and said she wanted to go on vacation. I told her she needed to stop telling me to drive on the sidewalk then. She’s stopped since our discussion! π
Love the white with turquoise accents!

My boys are still back seat drivers! What a beautiful dress on you – and the necklace is perfect!
Oh the craziness of backseat drivers (my kids being that) haha! Cute post, love the dress and way you styled it. Have a lovely Wednesday π Thanks for linking up to “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” yesterday.

OMG This is my life everytime we are in the car. Backseat drivers are a pain in my butt. It’s so funny how they assume they can be a better driver. Love the crisp, white dress.
Melissa
LOVE the white dress especially with the teal in the necklace, great pop of color.
I’m a terrible backseat driver and fully aware of if, it’s that reason I always drive lol
That white dress is just perfect for summer. And oh the back seat driving. What is worse is when you know if you said the same thing to the person who is saying it to you, they would have a cow and get all mad at you, double standard I say! but at least you have a cute back seat driver.
So cute, and love the necklace!
This is hilarious! I hate when my mom is the backseat driverβ¦so annoying! I love your pretty dress & that necklace with it!

Hahaha, oh boy! I’m sure I’d feel the same way. I’d be amused at times, and trying to hold onto my patience in others! And I know how the backseat driver thing goes. Just yesterday my fiance told me where I needed to be turning like I didn’t know…it was our fifth Tuesday in a row driving to the same place. Oy.
Adorable look, Brooke! I love this LWD and how you paired it with that fabulous statement necklace. This is a funny post! I AM that backseat driver! haha I hate to admit it but I just need to be in control. I’m particularly that way with my older sister. I’m always gasping (and trying so hard not to!) but it must have to do with the fact that we got into a car accident shortly after she got her license many years ago. I guess that stuff sticks with you!

Great LWD, so pretty on you. I hate back seat drivers. What drives me crazy the most is when my husband gives me directions when I already know where I’m going!! He should just drive!

Thanks girl!
Haha! That’s exactly what I tell my husband!
I am guilty of doing it too so I shouldn’t complain. I do it to my mom the most, she’s notorius for waiting until the last minute to stop so I’m always like are you going to slow down?!
Sometimes I just have to pretend I can’t hear him because the front seat is just so far from the back seat, π But then he hits me with, why you not talking?!
Thanks so much!
Thank you Megan!! Moms are famous for that! I can only imagine how I’ll be when my boys are driving age!
Thanks so much!
Yes!!! That is so my husband, haha!
I have a friend like that! But hey, you know you’re better in control. π
Thanks Melissa! My husband claims I think about too many other things when I’m driving, but a girls gotta multitask!
He’s starting early for sure!
I’m glad I finally made it by your link-up! I haven’t been the best at keeping up lately!
Thank you Lana!! Good to know I’m not alone in my house full of back seat drivers!
Thanks a bunch Anna!
That is too funny!!! The other day he told me the yellow like meant to drive faster, I’m like who told you that?!
Haha! I love hearing that I’m not the only one!
I have to give him a free pass on cuteness alone. π
I would rather ride too, it’s more fun to scope out the scenery anyway!
Thanks Alice! Sounds just like my hubby and I!
Haha, that’s cute!
I’m always surprised when he gets the directions right! Learning early π
If only cars has double pedals like the drivers ed cars, ha!
I love your statement necklace! darling summer look!

Thanks so much Joanna!
Thanks Kelsey! π
This white dress is so gorgeous on you and I love how genuinely happy you look π I used to dislike ‘backseat drivers’, however nine times out of ten their gasps are warranted and have actually prompted me to become more careful and a better driver haha – though, don’t worry.. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I LIKE their comments/gasps! π

I think we have all had to deal with that at some point in time, and are also guilty of doing it as well I’m sure I drew a couple brakes on the passenger side as well, not being in control is tough lol. very cute and simple outfit looks very breathable love it, hope you have a great weekend.

Ha! This just cracked me up! Although I haven’t experienced it yet, as my boys just turned one, I’m sure it will be happening sooner than I want. My niece is a backseat driver though, and is always telling my sister to slow down! Kids are too funny. I love your white eyelet dress!
