What is your answer to the age old question; if you could have a superpower, what would it be?
For me, if would be the ability to heal. But what about a popular one, the ability to read minds.
If you could read people’s minds, would you want to? I wouldn’t.
I’m a sensitive gal, confrontations make me uneasy and I bruise as easy as a peach. I remember starting this blog being scared to death I would fall victim to internet hate. Luckily, I haven’t and hope I never endure that because it would surely keep me up at night. I’m always one to watch what I say and stay neutral because an argument is something I never want to be in.
If I could read people’s minds and for goodness sake if they were thinking something ugly about me, it would probably ruin my whole week. I still remember some of the hateful things said about me in high school; the days of so-and-so said this about you. Oh, the hurt and angst of those halls. I should probably let that go by now
I think if I was a Kardashian, I would have to go live in a cave because I couldn’t handle the internet hate. But, I guess that’s why I’m not cut out for reality TV.
Truth is, words hurt, but sometimes the thoughts that create those words are even uglier. If you ask me, that’s why sometimes speaking your mind, unfiltered, isn’t the best idea. There’s a lot of truth to that old saying, think before you speak.

I would definitely have a super power that would benefit me as a mom. Maybe moving objects with my mind, or knowing all of the answers for homework help? This is sucha cute skirt and I love it with the floral print and denim jacket.

I wouldn’t want to be a mind reader because I probably would not want to know most of what people are thinking!! I think I would love to have a power that got my daughter and I to dance class more quickly. We travel 90 minutes round trip 6 days a week. But I love that time with her – so maybe a cooking genie would work(: Love the floral top! Susan
Cute, Fun and Classy all rolled into one! Girl, your words ring so true. In Fact I did a post on Monday of things I wish I’d know in High School. Glad that chapter is behind us and we can be the capable and strong women we were meant to be! Happy Wednesday!
I wouldn’t want to be able to read minds either. For me, I would love to be able to transport wherever I need to be! Your skirt is adorable and I love your floral top!

Pretty look + great pieces. The floral print is so feminine. Have a lovely day!
Loving that floral top on you! Perfect for the end of summer.
I wouldn’t want to read minds. The garbage that sometimes comes out of people’s mouth is just enough to handle =).
Love the mix of prints and texture here. That top is so pretty!
Red Reticule
That floral top is so pretty and I love the hint of mint your watch adds. Beautiful patterned skirt, too.

You ask a great question. I am not 100% sure I wanted to read minds either. I wouldn’t mind being a fl on the wall and listening in though lol. Your floral top and skirt are so pretty and chic today. Love the light blue bracelet, also.
Such a beautiful top. Love the florals agains the denim! So cute!

Thanks Ada! I would like to listen in on some conversations for sure! Haha
Thanks Carrie!! It was a Christmas present last year from Erica. π
That’s the truth!!
Thanks Claire! I got it on a crazy sale before Piperlime went out, man I miss Piperlime!
Thanks miss Carrie!
Oh that’s a great one! I would love to be able to so that!
That sounds like an awesome post, I’m on my way to read that one!
Oh I would love a cooking genie or transporting somewhere would be cool too. Man, so many powers I would love to have!
So true!! At this toddler stage in my baby’s life I would love to be able to stop a tantrum at the snap of a finger. π
It would be so cool to fly, invisible would be cool too, you could sneak around everywhere!
I would so wear like all of your outfits too. π
love that floral blouse!
I’d hate to be able to read minds, I’m the same as you, I’d get my feelings hurt WAY too easily!
Beautiful post, so well said. TFS. I’ve been blogging for over eight years, and 99% of it has been positive, though I have been the victim of Internet hate too. Whenever someone does that, it’s usually because they make an assumption about you without really knowing you, based on maybe one sentence you say in your post. It is very hurtful, and hard to get over. I really wish people would think twice before they speak.
Love your outfit. The skirt is adorable and I love how you styled it.
I would not want that superpower either. I think I would be afraid to know not only what some people thought of me but the pressure to know and fix any hurts or pain in general would be a lot. Love your floral top with the white skirt. I wore a jean jacket with my skirt on Monday. Aren’t they great?!

Gorgeous top Brooke! I avoid confrontation myself so I know how it is. I think you are a wonderful person (through knowing you via blogging and shopping your shop) and I can’t think of anything but good about you.

Love the waffle print on your skirt. I am not sure I would want to read people’s mind, I do not have a poker face and I can just imagine what I would be doing if I knew what people were really thinking π

Awwww thanks for sharing your deepest thoughts with us – I share your opinion on this superpower haha! And I am loving the details and texture of your versatile all-season skirt!!

Love the textured pattern on that skirt. So cute. I don’t think I’d want to read minds, like you I am sensitive and just don’t let things go and dwell on it and dwell on it…it’s bad. I think I’d want to fly, I could get to work faster, get home faster and not sit in traffic for an hour π
I used to really care what people thought about me and cry about it and get upset. Lately, I learned that it doesn’t matter what they think. They are wasting their time hating you so don’t let it bother you. You look so pretty here! (Well, you always do) but that top is so pretty and I love the quilted skirt!

I would love to be invisible! I wouldn’t want to read minds either. There are some things that are better left unknown! Love that adorable blouse on you!
Good thoughts to share today! Loving your layering with the jean jacket. As always, you look darling!
xx, Conni
Thanks sweet Conni! I was joking with Erica when we took these pictures that I think I wear this Jean jacket a little too much.
Aw thanks Laura! It would be fun to be invisible!
That’s so true Megan!
I’m glad I’m not alone there, I wish I could toughen up a little.:-) I would love to fly, the places you could go would be amazing!
Thank you Rebecca!! I have been wearing this skirt a lot lately!
Haha I never thought of that side of it! I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face either.
Aw thank you Rachel, that’s so sweet of you to say!
Thanks girl!!
Haha for real!
Oh I love emojis!
Yes!! That’s another great point, that would be a heavy burden to bear. I love my jean jacket, I’ve had this bad boy since high school!
So true Amy. I have never understood why anyone would be ugly to someone on purpose. Words can be so hurtful and powerful.
Thanks girl! I’m glad I’m not the only one who bruises easily π
Haha! No way! Did you see my style post?! Haha.
Lovely outfit, this would be perfect for a day to night kind of post, just changing the shoes and adding more accessories.

Great casual chic outfit with the floral top and jean jacket. I would not want to read minds but I’d love to have exceptional learning power to pick up any language or skills in a matter of minutes/hours.

Thanks for sharing with us! I too avoid confrontation at all costs. I love to just keep the peace! If I had a superpower, I’d want to be able to snap my fingers and be somewhere. Quick travel!
Great outfit. I love the colors in the blouse.

I would definitely want to read minds…only the minds of men though! Would save me a lot of headache LOL. I am loving the pretty floral top and the texture of your skirt…great pair up!

Confrontation must be my biggest fear. I can’t handle having something that makes me doubt myself, so I would really like to overcome this.

I couldn’t handle reading minds either. I’m in exactly the same boat, I hate confrontation and my feelings are hurt easily, not to mention my self-esteem isn’t the best as is, so if people were saying bad things about me I couldn’t take it!
I think that’s my problem too, I have terrible self esteem!
Aw thanks Marta!
Me too Natalia!
Haha!!! I can only imagine what’s on their minds.
I would be all about fast transportation!
That would be an awesome power too!
Oh yes! I totally agree.
Beautiful top!

I couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying. I absolutely would not ever want to read people’s minds. A majority of the time, I have a hard time reading mine, I wouldn’t dream of trying to decipher others! What I don’t know…can’t hurt me! I love your outfit! The print of the top is perfect and it matches so well with that cream skirt! You look great!
You look so cute dear
Lovin’ your floral top.
Oh mind reading is a great superpower as you can read people’s mind and thoughts
what i love to have is the power to travel in time.

Love that tap! Cute with the jean jacket!!
http://www.amemoryofus.com
and tap I mean top hahaha
What a pretty look! I love the colors in that floral top, and it’s perfect with that white skirt! I agree, I don’t think I could handle reading minds either… I’d rather not know I think! It’s so silly, but I’d love having the ability to super speed read. I’d be able to read all the books I want to read, plus learn about all kinds of things I don’t have time to learn about right now. Very dorky, yes.
Such a lovely look! The words are fitting for the look as both are lovely. I tend to respect people more for not just speaking their mind. Wisdom says that we don’t always have to plead our case or defend ourselves or speak our minds. Thanks for reminding all of us of this truth! Have a lovely week and thanks for linking up with Whitney, Casey & Carrie!
You are welcome, and thank you for linking up to “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” the other day. Have a good weekend!
