It’s done, it’s done, its finally done!!! After months of pouring my love into this room I am so happy to share the finished product. It really has been super exciting to see everything come together. 🙂 A lot of pride stems from the fact that this is the most time I have ever spent on decorating. Actually, my husband and I joke that the baby has the most decorated room in the house (all the way down to the painted walls). But decorating the nursery was fun, not only because I was excited about the reason for decorating the room but also because I had a theme that I was able to run with. I chose the travel theme because one of my passions is wanting to see the world and I already had a bunch of globes on hand that further inspired me to chose this theme. Some personal elements were added throughout the room by way of the modge-podged “A” (covered with a map of where we live, grew up and where baby will be born) and the hand-painted hot air ballon canvas done for me as a special request by my mother. She is an artist so I wanted to have something original done by her incorporated somewhere into the nursery. The lion in the painting was chosen specifically because that was my sorority mascot from college. I even threw in personalized consideration into choosing the landmark prints: the Eiffel tower and Colosseum are both places I have been to, the Syndey Opera House because my husband did a tour in Australia while he was active duty military and Big Ben because London is the next place abroad that I would like to visit most. Several items in the room I was lucky enough to acquire second hand from family (crib, rocking chair and dresser) and a few things are actually from my old room from growing up (lamp globe, shelf – painted, side table – painted, precious moments night light). I chose to forgo a changing table since the dresser I had was shorter than most changing pads. Instead a diaper caddy and blanket will act as a mobile changing station so I can change baby girl anywhere in the house. With my house being limited on space, I tried to make sure that I had lots of storage incorporated into the room (cube organizer and storage ottoman). Many of the final touches actually didn’t come until the final weeks, as some of the decor came in the form of gifts that fit in just perfectly with the rest of the room. All in all it turned out even better than I hoped. Now I can sit back and relax until baby girl’s arrival!

I saw this earlier on my phone Erica and I was mesmerized. One of the prettiest and most unique nurseries I have ever seen. Love the travel theme. My favorite thing are those 4 paintings of the 4 different cities and the gorgeous painting your mom made.
