3 Lifestyle Goals To Start Working Toward Tomorrow Morning!

Relationship goals, wardrobe goals, health goals; we’ve got goals. Do you? If one of your big goals is to live a healthier lifestyle, we have three mini goals you should be adding to your morning routine, starting tomorrow!

Wake Up Earlier. Don’t get us wrong, you need your rest, but waking up just a little bit earlier allows you to start your day relaxed and focused rather than rushed and all over the place. If you’re not running late then you are less likely to be stressed! A little extra time gives you a chance to get your thoughts and your calendar organized for the day. Also, take a few minutes each morning to breathe and clear your mind of any to-do’s before starting your busy day. Close your eyes and visualize yourself sitting on a beach or in the middle of a tropical rainforest (you can even put on sounds to make these visualizations even more real). Consider this a mini-vacation for your brain. All of these things will help you start the day with calm instead of chaos resulting in less stress overall. Imagine how many other goals you could reach if you made waking up earlier a priority!

Exercise. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate activity 5 days a week for your health. So start each morning with a 30 minute jog, or pop out of bed and do a quick at home workout. If you amp up your workout intensity you can get away with 25 minutes of vigorous exercise 3 days a week. Hello HIIT workouts! If you can’t commit to the 30 minutes in the morning, you can opt for a quick 10 minute workout in the morning and then follow up with 10 minutes at lunch and another 10 minutes after dinner. The key is just to get active, if you can’t find the time for the full schedule just get moving a little bit each day. Regular exercise is shown to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and reduces stress. We like the payoff of that goal!

Eat a wholesome breakfast. What you eat plays a significant role in health and breakfast can really help set the tone for the rest of your day. Breakfast should get you from bedroom to boardroom while feeling strong and energized. A well-balanced morning consists of complex carbohydrates, nutrients and fiber from whole grains, as well as protein. Yoplait’s new Plenti™ Oatmeal Meets Greek Yogurt is a great part of a complete breakfast when paired with a serving of fruit! It takes whole grains to a whole new level by mixing oatmeal with Greek yogurt in a variety of flavors and a taste that is like overnight oats. The ready-to-eat, straight out of the fridge bowl is a nice addition to a morning routine, as it is low in saturated fat and cholesterol and contains 11 grams of protein and 16 grams* of whole grain in a single container!

Start your day with these three things and you are sure to take the right steps towards a healthy lifestyle!

What’s your favorite fruit that you would pair with Yoplait® Plenti™

Yogurt to kick your morning off right?

*At least 48 grams whole grain recommended daily.

I need to start the day with a good breakfast. I’m not very good when it comes to breakfast, I’ll admit it, and that’s bad. I’ve noticed the days I skip breakfast, I tend to binge. Sigh. And I just realised I used the word breakfast 3 times in as many lines, not counting this. OY.

I love this post. It’s so true that the morning is the best time to get organized in that way! Ever since we moved to a new place (farther from work), I have had a terrible time getting up and around. Let alone getting wonderful things done first thing. Luckily, we do pack a good breakfast every morning. I never go without it. We’ve been trying to take more walks during the day at work too. 🙂 XO – Alexandra

Great for you Darcy!! I am working on this again as well. I had gotten into the habit of taking advantage of sleeping during my girls morning nap and sleeping as long as she sleeps but now she pretty much sleeps from 9p to 7:30am so I’m trying to train myself to get back up at 5a again!

  116. 3.22.16

I know me too!! Like I just told Darcy, I’m trying to get back in the habit of getting up early early. My girl sleeps until about 7:30a now so I’m trying to get up and running by 5:30 so I have a couple of uninterrupted hours in the morning to be productive.

I was kind of excited when my baby was helping me to become a morning person by forcing me out of bed at 4:30/5am but now she is sleeping until 7:30a (not that I am complaining by any means and am soooo thankful for the extra sleep!)
