Games You Played As A Kid That Were Totally Awesome Workouts

When you were a kid, fitness came easy! Kids are always jumping, running and skipping. Take note from your littles and bring out these classic games you played as a kid that are totally awesome workouts.

Jump Rope

Jumping rope can burn roughly 10 calories a minutes! Plus, it strengthens your legs, butt, shoulders and arms!!

Hopscotch

Hopscotch will challenge your balance, work your legs and butt and torch an average of 170 calories in 30 minutes! Pull out the sidewalk chalk and go to town.

Tag You’re It!

Tag will keep you running, twisting and jumping! As opposed to a steady state jog, running around during tag will keep your muscles guessing, for an interval style workout calorie burn.

Relay Races

If you have younger children, include them in a little relay race! If your littles aren’t up for running, put them in a wagon or a toy car and push them to the finish line! When you get to each check point, perform ten reps of a classic move such as push-ups, burpees or squats! You’ll be surprised how sore every little muscle in your body will be after 30 minutes of relay races.

(It may even put them in nap mode, hence our little’s thumb sucking ;))

Make activity fun and easy just like when you were a kid and you’re sure to keep it up. Not to mention, when you include your children in a workout, they will encourage you to get it done each and every day!

This is such an awesome post, ladies! I love how you always show different ways moms can still be fit and feel great, while spending quality time with their kids, very inspirational and motivational! I grew up outside always playing these games and so active. I actually feel bad for a lot of the kids these days, who’s parents aren’t encouraging an active lifestyle like you ladies, and are just always entertaining with the devices. They really are missing out on so much fun! I also love the vibrant fitness pieces! Great post!
