This time last year, one of my favorite morning routines was dropping my oldest son off at preschool and taking a little shopping trip. I would browse the aisles, sip on a coffee and just think of the possibilities; it was therapy. But, this time last year, my youngest son was just a sleeping little bundle in a stroller, along for those coffee filled rides.
As they always do, things have changed. My babe is no longer my tiny sleeping sidekick, he is a screaming, let me out, I need to run sidekick. So, those shopping trips, have become few and far between. Except for this one particular morning. He fell asleep. We were headed out to play, but since he was asleep, I took a little detour. I pulled up at the mall and did the most delicate carseat to stroller transfer I could do and did a little happy dance when he kept snoozing away.
I walked into LOFT and grabbed many a few things to try on. Let me tell you, I should have shopped a little faster because this trip was short lived.
After the first thing I tried on, this floral peplum top, he was awake and he was mad, like most babies are when they wake from a slumber. So, I rushed myself out of the dressing room, not buying a thing. But, as I walked to my car, I thought about that floral top.
I thought about how cute you were, floral top, with your little peplum and sheer sleeves and how your beautiful jewel tones looked great with my brown hair.
I pulled you up online and thought to myself, you just don’t look as pretty online, but I still love you. Problem was, you weren’t on sale and this cheapo doesn’t buy things unless they’re on sale. It’s the basic knowledge that LOFT has a sale like every week so paying full price just isn’t an option for me, but I digress.
So, I waited and waited…until I got that beautiful e-mail that LOFT was having yet another sale and I scooped you up!
Sometimes a piece of clothing comes with a long story, you ponder it for a little while before you make the purchase, for whatever reason. But, for me, the things I ponder the most are the things I end up treasuring the most. What about you?

I have been eyeing the skirt and dress in that print for weeks, but I didn’t see that top! It’s gorgeous on you! Might have to scoop it up with their Black Friday sale!
This top is gorgeous. It is odd how when we have an article of clothing in mind it only makes sense to get it if it’s on the mind for days. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I almost bought that top last weekend…dang, now I really wish I did!
That’s a smart way to shop—go to the store and scope out what you like. Then wait for one of their sales, because they are good about that!
It’s a beautiful top—so glad you got it!
