A few months ago my curling wand that I had been using for years, decided to take a dirt nap. Being that I love my curls, another wand was necessary. So, I did what any girl does – and took to my friends on social media for their recommendations. Two wands were recommended to me, the T3 curling wand and L’ANGE curling wands. While the reviews for a T3 wand were numerous and wonderful, I couldn’t get over that price y’all. Then a friend of mine from church recommended the L’ANGE wand and told me about the sale that was currently going on, making the wand around $40! It was the best $40 I’ve ever spent.
A Review of the L’ANGE Curling Wand
On their website, all of the wands are in the $100 range, but, if you do a little searching you can find these wands promoted on blogs at a discount and they also often run specials, which deeply discounts these wands. As I write this, there is a fall season sale, making the wand $49! It is also on Amazon here for $40.
I purchased the L’ANGE Ondle blush 1″ titanium wand. I have a few friends with the ceramic 1.25″ wand and they love it! However, for me, and my fine hair – I needed the smaller barrel to get actual curls. I’ve tried their 1.25″ and my hair basically just falls straight. Plus, you can’t beat the pretty color of this wand!
So, what do I think about it? If you couldn’t tell already, I love it! It is everything my friends told me it would be. It gets really hot, and makes beautiful lasting curls in my fine hair. If I could change anything about it, I wish it had a protective tip, to keep me from burning myself – and I wish I could adjust the heat levels. However, for $40 I think it’s pretty great. Those features are available on some of their other wands, if you want to pay a little more. To give you an idea of the wand in action, I thought I would share how I curl my hair with it, and what other products I use to get lasting curls.
How I Curl My Hair with the L’ANGE Ondule 1″ Curling Wand
- Starting with blow dried hair, I section my hair into two sections.
2. Then I spray the bottom layer with GHD Heat Protect Spray. I recently bought this spray from Sephora – I love the smell, and I think it helps my curls stay put longer.
3. Grabbing 1″ sections of hair, I lay my hair flat on the iron and curl away from my face.
4. I repeat all the way around, then pull down the second layer and spray it with GHD Heat Protect Spray.
5. Continuing with 1″ sections, curled away from my face.
6. This is my hair curled, straight from the iron. Not the final step!
7. To give my hair fuller waves, I brush it out with a round brush. It softens the curls, and takes away that curly q look.
Sometimes I spray my hair with hairspray while I curl, and sometimes after – but lately I’ve just been using the heat protectant spray. Maybe it’s the wand, or the combo with the heat protect spray, but my curls have lasted without using any hairspray.
If you’re in the market for a new curling wand, I highly recommend a L’ANGE wand! One of my friends, never curled her hair prior to purchasing this wand, now she’s a hair curling pro. Thanks to all my friends out there who recommended it to me.
