My personal favorite thing to wear in the fall and winter is a comfortable pair of leggings. They’re perfect with lots of warm cozy layers, warm socks, and tucked into boots. I love to dress up – but I also really love to be warm and comfortable. In this capsule series post, I’m sharing two pairs of leggings that I love and the different ways I wear them. Even a few ways I personally will wear them to work.

Capsule Series: Leggings Five Ways
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Petite-Friendly Leggings
For this post, I chose my most worn leggings. I’m going to admit I own both of them in multiples because I wear them so much. The first pair is a ponte pair from LOFT that I wear if I want to look a little less casual. I’ll wear this pair to work as well. They’re thick and not see-through and don’t have the big obvious seams you see on activewear leggings.
The second pair is from Aerie. There are actually two pairs I wear often from Aerie. The first is their Real Me leggings in short. These have a little bit of crop on me and I love to wear them with sneakers. They are lightweight but not see-through. I say lightweight because they’re not compressive at all. I also love their OG leggings which are a basic black cotton pair. I also wear them in short but they are a tiny bit longer than the Real Me pair.
To Work
I’m going to start with two ways I would wear a pair of leggings to work – with a little disclaimer. Last fall I created a post with outfit ideas for work with leggings and so many people loved it – and then there were those who were quite bothered by it. It goes without saying that leggings will be appropriate in some places and not others. If you work in a business professional environment – they’re not going to cut it.
I like to wear tops that cover my bottom when I’m wearing leggings, but that’s just my personal preference and not a style rule. In one outfit I’m wearing an oversized white button-down and added a sweater over the shoulders for an extra layer. In the next, I went with the same white button-down and added a long vest from H&M over it. Unfortunately, I can’t find the sweater vest online anymore, it was there before I filmed this and now it’s missing. I will keep an eye out for an update!

Casual Leggings Outfits
On any given casual day, you’re going to find me in an outfit like one of the outfits below. Leggings, comfortable tops, and some sort of longer layer like a jacket or even an oversized sweatshirt. I often wear sneakers, both low tops and high tops, and chelsea boots with my leggings in the fall in winter. Although I will wear my chelsea boots with jeans, I most often wear them with leggings.
