If you want to be festive, but still casual – this post is for you! As much as I love putting together dressed-up outfits for the holidays, I’m really casual at heart. So, if you see me this holiday season, there’s a good chance I’m going to be wearing something simple and comfortable like this. Also, I’m sharing a couple of outfits that are festive, without having to buy an entire new outfit or buy something that is season-specific.
Casual Holiday Outfits
Holiday Plaid
You can really only wear a holiday plaid top through the month of December, but the good thing is you can save it and wear it year after year. Plus, it always makes for an easy-to-wear holiday outfit! This plaid top is from Old Navy so you also won’t break the bank on it. I bought it in petite, but I recommend the regular sizing. I’m not sure why but the arms on Old Navy’s flannel tops in Petite are always really short. I tucked this top in here by leaving the last few buttons undone and wrapping the two sides. My exact red flats are older, but I’m linking another option in case you want to recreate the look.

This is another affordable plaid top that you can wear year after year. I like that this one looks great untucked and it works well with dress pants for work as well. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and it fits true to size.

Festive Sweatshirt/Sweater
You can also make anything in red and green festive – without buying something that’s season-specific. This sweatshirt is also from Old Navy and I love the cute ruffle shoulders. I’m wearing it in Petite XS and it has a cropped fit. I like it untucked with the jeans I’m wearing because they’re more of a mid-rise, but I would do a full tuck with this sweatshirt with a pair of high-waisted jeans. It also comes in other colors you could dress up for the holidays.

Festive Scarf
One of my favorite ways to make anything festive without buying new clothes is with a holiday-paid scarf. I’ve had mine for a few years and love pulling it out season after season. I’m wearing it here with a cozy oversized sweater and leggings, but I’ve also worn it on the blog with a sweater dress.

You asked for lots of holiday outfit ideas so I’m still working on a few other posts with more dressed-up options as well as options for work. You can check out this post for more ideas as well!
