Flats you can walk all day in and pants that are petite-friendly enough to be paired with them! I put this post together for those who work in a casual work environment. I often get requests from teachers, in particular, so I’m hoping some of these outfit ideas will work for my teacher friends! Depending on your weather, flats may or may not be an option this time of year. If not, you can swap in sneakers and socks (if your dress code allows) or low-heeled boots in these outfits, I will link options I think pair well with each outfit.

Casual Outfits for Work with Flats
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement of the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). Wide-Leg Pants
I bought these wide-leg pants from J.Crew Factory in both olive and cream. They are a great length (27.5″ inseam) in petite that works well with flats. I’m wearing them in my true size, but they are the kind of material that stretches quite a bit with wear and they are already roomy through the waist, so I would size down for the best fit if that is an option for you. These pants pair well with high-top sneakers and tall socks for more warmth. For boots, I would choose a slim, low-heeled option like this pair.

Ponte Pants
Spanx Perfect Skinny Pants have a comfortable stretchy fit but are heavier than leggings. I’m wearing them in Petite XS and they fit me well overall. Although these fit well from the store, mine have shrunk some in length in the wash, so they’re a little shorter on me. I also love these ponte leggings from LOFT that are still heavier than traditional leggings and are less expensive. They would also work well with knee-high boots if you want to warm this outfit up.

Slim Straight Jeans
If you can wear jeans to work, I have loved these dark wash straight jeans from J.Crew for years! They have a classic dark wash and fit that is still professional. They come in high-rise and mid-rise and are stretchy and comfortable to wear all day. This pair is easy to wear with any ankle boots if you need to warm this outfit up.
