Casual Outfits for Work
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Pleated Skirt
The pleated skirt makes another appearance on the blog! The blue of the skirt and the blue in the printed top were a perfect match, so I had to pair the two together. This skirt always comes with a lot of questions, so I’ll go ahead and answer the most common ones:
- This skirt is called “dark gray,” but it’s a dusty steel blue, not gray. My pictures and videos are pretty accurate in terms of color. (Lighting can throw off colors, but I don’t filter my photos.)
- I wash this skirt in the washing machine and hang it to dry. I steam the wrinkles out by steaming the skirt vertically. The pleats are looser on the bottom than they are on the top of the skirt.
- I’m wearing it in a size small. I don’t think the skirt runs small; it works because of the elastic waistband, so there’s no need to size up.
- If you’re looking for more ways to wear the skirt, you can find a few in this post.
- I have this skirt in multiple colors and get reviews of it from readers as well; it’s a top pick all around!

Striped Pants
I was really excited to come across these striped jeans. They look just like the striped pair from LOFT I’ve been loving, but being jeans, I knew they would hold their shape better. Unfortunately, everyone else must have thought the same thing because they sold out quickly in Petite! I’m still posting in case of a restock (or if you don’t need petite sizing). For reference, I find them to be true to size. The linen top is a great petite fit, but is sheer, so you may need an undershirt with it.

Seersucker Blazer
Seersucker blazers are great for summer! This one has a perfect fit (the sleeves are just right) and it’s lightweight, so you won’t be too hot. There is a matching skirt with this blazer, but it was a pass for me. The skirt runs very small and is thin (so thin I could see underwear lines in the front…not a good look).
The Ankle Straight Jeans from Abercrombie recently restocked in short and extra short! They’ve been a reader favorite for a few years now. I have these jeans in my true size and in a size up – in my true size, 24 short, they’re really snug at first, but they stretch with wear and are the best fit all around. The rise is very high on these jeans (I have multiple pairs and have some that measure 11″ and some that measure somewhere between 10.5″ and 11″; I’m not sure why there is variation, but I guess that happens sometimes (or maybe I’m just not good at measuring). I get a lot of questions about how I’m able to wear these jeans, and it really all comes down to comfort level. The jeans come up to my ribcage, but it doesn’t bother me. If you prefer a lower rise, I love Abercrombie’s mid-rise straight jeans (they have a 9″ rise).

Linen Top
This linen top is short-sleeved and lightweight, so it’s great for keeping cool! It’s true to size and looks great with shorts, too. I continue to love cropped wide-leg jeans! These jeans fit true to size and aren’t see-through at all in white. I’m wearing them in the curvy fit here because they run a little bit narrow through the hips. I will also link the regular fit, but they have a raw hem instead of the finished hem on this pair.
