If you’re looking for a few ideas for layers to wear to work you’re in luck. In today’s post, I’m sharing my favorite fall layers to grab when I’m building an outfit for the office.

Fall Layers for Work
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Sweater Over the Shoulder
I used to find it really awkward to wear a sweater over my shoulders. I wanted so badly to wear the trend, but I just felt like I was wearing a cape. I was trying to tie the sleeves together (even did the little sock roll trick with the sleeves), but I found if I just wore them loose over my shoulder it not only felt more wearable, I didn’t feel like I was wearing a cape anymore. So – if this is you too, try to wear it without looping the sleeves together. It adds interest to an outfit, but also if you get cold you can just put the sweater on.

Blazer
A blazer is an obvious choice for wearing to work. I’m working on doing a roundup of some of my favorites for fall, but I’m still searching for the best options. So for now, here is a budget option from Walmart. It has an oversized fit on me in XS.

Sweater Blazer
The sweater blazer is like a cardigan – but is a little more elevated. I love this sweater blazer from Quince, it’s identical to one I have from J.Crew from a few years ago that has been well-loved. The sleeves are meant to be cropped, which means they’re a great length for Petites (this sweater only comes in regular sizing).

Cardigan
A cozy cardigan is classic and is probably the most popular layer for wearing to work. I love cardigans in all shapes and lengths, but I especially love a long cardigan. This one from Ann Taylor also looks great with ponte leggings for a casual office outfit.
