Fall comes around and you change your wardrobe, maybe your hair, and your lip color; but do you change your skincare routine? You should! Cooler temps, less humidity, and more time indoors can make for dry, itchy and sensitive skin. So come on in girl, grab a cup of coffee and cozy up – let’s talk about your fall skincare.
Fall Skincare Essentials
Gentle Cleanser
Starting off with a fall skincare essential, a great cleanser. My skin is very sensitive, especially in the cooler months. I get very dry, and very itchy! So, I go as easy on my skin as possible.
I use the same mild cleanser from Skin Resource.MD year round, but in the cooler months I will often skip washing my face in the morning. Since I remove my makeup every night and wash my face then, in the morning I just rinse with a little water before applying my moisturizers. Depending on your skin type, skipping that morning wash may not be for you. If your skin is oily or acne prone, I recommend Skin Resource.MD’s Pore Clearing Cleanser.
Moisturizing Toner
Following cleansing, it’s important to push moisture back into your skin. Moisturizing is the most important thing to me in the cooler months. I love Skin Resource.MD Visibly Moist Toner. I use it year round, and use it all over my body. My skin is dry and itchy in general, so after shaving my legs, I get really itchy. I’ll spray this toner on my legs, and they immediately feel better. It’s so soothing. You can even spray this on top of your makeup through the day to add a little moisture if needed.
Deep Moisturizers
In the fall and winter, I trade in my light oil-free moisturizers for heavy, rich ones. The more hydration the better! The Ultra Rich BioLipid Cream from Skin Resource.MD is formulated for sensitive skin, that’s me! The formula has Green Tea, antioxidants, and calming plant extracts soothe skin, and lessen the signs of aging. I use it daily! Depending on how my skin is feeling that day, if my skin is dry in the morning, I’ll wear it under my makeup, but if it doesn’t feel dry, I save it for nighttime. I even use it on other parts of my body, not just my face. Noticing a trend here? I don’t reserve skincare for just my face, I want all of my skin to stay healthy!
I also use a Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum daily. I’ve talked about this serum many times on the blog now, and I won’t stop, I love it! I use it under my makeup in the mornings and reapply after cleansing at night.

If my skin is feeling irritated or is visibly red, I use a Soothing Gelle Masque in the evening. You leave it on for 20 minutes, and it soothes skin, while taking away any visible irritation. It’s also great for sunburns.
Protect Your Skin
Just because I’m not on the beach, doesn’t mean I stop protecting my skin. I continue to use sunscreen daily into the cooler months. My formula of choice is Skin Resource.MD Hyaluronic Facial Solar Protector. I love the light tint of the formula, as well as the extra hydration from hyaluronic acid.
Beautiful Fall Skin
So, in a nutshell, beautiful fall skin means taking it easy on your skin, while protecting and moisturizing as much as possible! Hydrated skin, is happy skin if you ask me.
Do you make changes to your skincare for fall?
