I’ve been rounding up quite a few great fall and winter staples from Target over the last few months and today I’m finally ready to share what I think is the best of the best. Some of these you’ll recognize from other posts, and some are new. I’ve noticed a shift in Target this season, carrying a lot more classic capsule worthy pieces, but still keeping with their affordability.

Fall Staples from Target
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Cashmere Like Mock Turtleneck Sweater
This $30 sweater is so soft and I love the cropped fit. Lengthwise it meets the top of high rise jeans perfectly on me. You’ll see I bought a lot of things in oatmeal/tan -it’s such a pretty neutral – but this sweater comes in four other colors. I’m wearing it in XS and it fits me well overall, with some extra length in the sleeves.
High Rise 90’s Straight Jeans
Petite-friendly jeans under $40 do exist! In general, I find the short length in Target’s Universal Thread brand to fit me well. This style is the 90’s Straight. They have a high rise and rigid denim. They’re overall true to size, fitting me a little snug in the waist, but loose through the hips in my true size 00 short.
Crewneck Cashmere Like Sweater
I also love the cropped fit of this sweater! Although I love a big cozy sweater, I appreciate the clean look of a cropped length. Just like the mock neck sweater, this one comes in other colors and fits me well overall in XS, with extra length in the sleeves.
Scoop Neck Sweater
I grabbed this scoop neck sweater in both oatmeal and brown. Although it’s described as a sweater it feels like a t-shirt to me and is great for layering and wearing on its own. I’m wearing it in XS and it has a great fit.
Long Layering Cardigan
This cardigan is the perfect amount of soft and oversized for me! It’s a layer you can wear casually with jeans, leggings, or joggers – but you can also dress it up and wear it to work. I’m wearing it in XS and it’s oversized but cozy.

Sweater Dress
This dress has been one of the top sellers from my blog over the last two months and it’s been getting rave reviews! I love the fit (its stretchy and comfortable) and also love how versatile it is. I’ve done a previous post with this dress showing you how you can layer with it. It comes in tan and black and is a really versatile piece I think you’ll love. I’m wearing it in XS here and the fit is spot on.
