Fizzy (Guilt Free) Popsicles & Link-Up

This post is sponsored by Perrier® Carbonated Mineral Water, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Although I’ve had popsicle molds sitting in my cabinet for the last two years, I think I’ve actually made homemade popsicles once. That is of course, until a couple of weeks ago when I was browsing the Magnolia Journal and Joanna shared a few homemade popsicle recipes. They used stainless steel molds and the popsicles looked fun, refreshing, and way prettier than any popsicle I’ve ever made. Jo has a way of making everything look a little better, doesn’t she?

So, I ordered those molds, then went popsicle crazy. I made chocolate ones, yogurt ones and fruit ones. Then I thought I would get a little crazy and add perrier to the mix, the result; fizzy, fun, and addicting popsicles. The best part, they’re guilt free!

Homemade Popsicles

Fizzy Guilt Free Popsicles

Perrier has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Mimi is an avid drinker of it, and I remember feeling so special as a kid sharing a glass of fizzy bubbles with her. If you’re not familiar with Perrier, it is flavored carbonated mineral water, without any calories or sugar. It’s fizzy, refreshing,  and makes for some pretty fun popsicles.  Of all the popsicles I experimented with, the three flavors below were my favorite. I started with Strawberry, Lime and Pink Grapefuit Perrier and then added in fresh fruit, honey and yogurt to make these lightly sweet combinations.

Strawberry Popsicle Recipe

Strawberry Popsicles

Ingredients (makes 6 popsicles)

  1. Cut up and puree the strawberries in a blender with honey.
  2. Add the can of Strawberry Perrier and stir (don’t blend!)
  3. Do a little taste test and add more honey if you feel like it needs a little more sweetness for your tastes. I tried to keep mine low sugar so they would stay healthy.
  4. Fill molds and freeze for at least four hours.

The stainless steel molds I used made all the difference for me. They were easy to use, and you can release perfect little popsicles by running warm water over the mold for just a second. Of course, I made my popsicles lower in sugar to keep them healthy. If you want sweeter popsicles you’ll need to add more honey.

If you need me, I’ll be in the kitchen making more popsicles, because I’m pretty sure these have become one of my favorite (guilt free) things!
