4 Tips for Glowing Summer Skin

Thank you Skin Resource.MD for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

If your skin is anything like mine (dry as the Sahara Desert) I know it’s feeling much happier these days. The heat and humidity may be a little uncomfortable, but my skin is thriving! In this season of happy skin, I’m all about protecting it and embracing it – with less makeup and more sunscreen. Today I’m sharing four ways I protect my skin and let my natural glow shine through.

Lighter Makeup

The biggest change for me in terms of summer skincare is wearing less makeup. Instead of buying a new foundation for a season, I cut the amount of foundation I typically apply in half and mix in an Oil-Free Antioxidant Moisturizer with my foundation to lighten the application. I start by applying it with my hands and finish the application with a beauty blender. It’s refreshing and moisturizing! Some days I skip makeup altogether and wear tinted sunscreen instead. Skin Resource.MD’s Facial Solar Protector is tinted and also has hyaluronic acid included for a healthy glow.

Repair and Replenish

I’m a fan of exfoliating year-round, but in the summer it really becomes important, especially if you end up with a sunburn on your face. I try to wear my hat and lots of sunscreen when I’m out in the sun but I’ve had a few days I’ve been caught without a hat and my skin paid the price. I use Crystal Clarity in the shower to scrub and follow-up with Skin Renewal Serum. It makes my skin brighter and minimizes fine lines. I can always tell a difference in my skin after using these two.

Light Hydration

Since my skin is less dry in the summer, I lighten up my moisturizers. In addition to the Oil-Free Antioxidant Moisturizer I use with my makeup, I also add Visibly Moist Toner. I use this day and night and skip some of the heavier moisturizers I typically use in the cooler months with my night skincare routine.

Shin-Free Makeup

As much as I love the hydration that summer brings, some days I can use a little help soaking up some of the sweat and oil. On days that I know I’ll be outside a lot I’ll also add Shine-Free Solution under my makeup. This is a great product in general for oily acne-prone skin, but it’s also great for someone like me who just wants a little help soaking up oil from time to time. It lets you glow, without glowing too much if you know what I mean!

Shine-Free Solution

Summer skincare feels as carefree as the season to me. I love that I can be a little lighter on makeup! What about you?

This month there are also special savings on some of my other daily products in the Summer Essentials Kit. The kit comes with a gentle cleanser, hyaluronic serum, and sunscreen! This month also includes the soothing gel mask which is great for repairing sun damage.
