Graduation season is here! Congrats to all the grads and friends/family of grads out there. I remember both my high school and college graduation and the challenging hunt for a dress that fit! Today I’m sharing four options for graduates and guests, with some that come in other color options to fit the color you may be looking for.

Graduation Dresses
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Graduate
The first dress in this post is from French Connection. If you’re looking for a short, solid dress they have several options that work well for Petites. Black is a common choice for college graduation because it goes well with the often black gown. However, this dress comes in several colors, including white for high school graduates. This dress fits me well all around in a size 0. In general, their dresses run small (which is great for someone who is petite like me). For the purpose of the post, I made each dress for a graduate or a graduation guest, but if you ask me, this dress makes for a great option for guests as well.

If you’re looking for a white graduation dress, this white one from French Connection is a beautiful choice. It’s thick and well-made (no see-through action here) and fits me well in a size 0. I took the photo for a different post, so I’m wearing a stiletto heel. For graduation, I would go with a chunky heel instead.

Graduation Guest
If you’re a guest at graduation this year and you’re feeling stumped on what to wear – a dress is always a good option. The kind of dress you wear will depend on the overall dress code. Personally, I think of high school graduations as being a little more casual, and college graduations as being more formal. This dress is a fun option from French Connection. It fits well in a size 0 and is well-made and lined. I think it’s great for a guest or for a graduate for the after-party (the puff sleeve makes it a little awkward under a gown).

Graduate
This dress is low in stock, unfortunately, but is another one that would be great for both the graduate and guests. It runs small and doesn’t have any stretch, so I recommend sizing up. It is fully lined and well-made.

Graduation Guest
The last dress is a flowy and comfortable option from Nordstrom. It fits me well overall in XXS. The dress comes to my knees but may go up in length as you go up in size. This dress is fully lined and has sheer sleeves that will work in warm weather as well. It has smocking at the back and a tie at the top to adjust to your size.
