Renting your clothes, have you ever thought of trying it? I’ve heard of Rent The Runway (never tried it) and I’ve tried Le Tote (didn’t like it), but when LOFT introduced their clothing rental program, Infinitely LOFT, I decided it was worth a try.
Infinitely LOFT
In case you’re not familiar, Infinitely LOFT is a rental program. For $64.95 a month, you can enjoy limitless boxes of your favorite LOFT clothes. You choose the items by building a closet and they are shipped to you, three items at a time. You can wear the items for however long you like, then ship them back. No laundering required. Once you ship back your package, another box is immediately prepared. If you choose to keep anything, it is discounted 50-60%. All of the sizes available through LOFT are offered, regular, petite, plus, tall, and even maternity.
First Impressions
At first, this seemed like a bloggers dream to me. Being a blogger, brings the need to share current and new styles, which means my closet is often overflowing. I have more clothes and things than I really need/know what to do with. Renting seems like an easy way to have fresh wardrobe pieces, with less waste and less cost. However, the catch is, most of the items available through Infinitely LOFT are not brand new arrivals, meaning most (although not all) of them are already out of stock to buy online. Not an issue if you’re just someone who loves to mix up their wardrobe often. An issue if you’re a blogger that needs to share items that can be shopped.
How many boxes can you get in a month?
In my first month, I received four boxes, so essentially a box a week. I wore each item (that I liked) 1-2 times, then shipped them back. The turnaround time for getting another shipment is about 4 days.
Are the items worn?
My very first shipment to me seemed worn. I almost cancelled the service right away after this first box. Since this is a rental service, I knew the items would be pre-worn, which in many ways is great. The item is getting lots of use and not just sitting in someone’s closet. However, I don’t want to wear something that looks like it’s been worn a little too much. After sending the first box back, the second box was refreshing. Everything looked fresh and clean and since then each of my shipments has had that same feel. I mentioned previously I also tried Le Tote, a similar service. I ultimately didn’t continue that service because to me the clothes were very used.
Shop The Post
The dress is in this post came in an Infinitely LOFT shipment, and is still available online. It also comes in yellow! For my petites out there, I did pin the wrap top as it was too low and I didn’t quite fill it out.
Will I continue Infinitely LOFT?
That’s the million dollar question. For now, that answer is yes. I’m enjoying the freedom of choosing items that I maybe wouldn’t outright buy, like dresses and jumpsuits I wouldn’t wear often. I’m also someone who enjoys mixing up my wardrobe often. Another pro, I was able to snag a few things that went out of stock online, like the petite version of this leopard midi skirt and this cute tie top.
Have you tried a clothing rental service?
