J.Crew Eco Jeans

I’m not one to read a lot about how businesses perform, but when J.Crew was in the news, it caught my attention. I didn’t realize it, since I’m such a die-hard fan, but apparently the brand has been really struggling for the last four years. I did notice the fit issues, and some quality issues with a few items I was trying, but I still found plenty of things to love on my end. However, despite some fans still on board, the brand has dipped, and this year is doing a revamp to try and capture back some sales. I mentioned in my fall staple post, these J.Crew eco jeans that I highly recommend. Today, I’m finally showing you what they look like, on.

One part of the brand’s revamp is focused on their denim. In the past, their denim didn’t cater to all shapes and sizes, especially the curvy girl. So, they changed the pockets and added a little room in the hips in some of their styles. I personally have always liked J.Crew denim, but I like their new denim even more. The larger back pockets are more flattering on me, and the fabric used to make these straight eco jeans, is perfect. They have enough stretch to be comfortable, but not too much, that they stretch out – I can count on these jeans to hold their shape through many wears.

The style is a little different for me. I’ve mentioned before that I tend to shy away from higher rise jeans because I don’t think they are as flattering on me. However, this pair makes me feel pretty good – my husband refers to these as my “mom jeans.”

Eco Friendly Denim

I’ll admit I’m not one to know a lot of about sustainability, however, I’ve picked up a few things and have become more interested in the topic thanks to my sister-in-law, Erica, over at A Waste Not Kind of Life. I not only was drawn to the denim for its style, but also how J.Crew said they were made. J.Crew eco jeans are made in a LEED certified factory using renewable energy and recycled water – it is one of the most sustainable denim manufacturing facilities in the world (according to J.Crew). The fabric is also sustainably dyed, organic cotton.

At the end of the day, I love the jeans, and I still love J.Crew. Their classic petite styles will always be a favorite of mine. I sure hope they can pull through because I would be one sad gal if they went under! Have you tried their denim this year?
