I can’t tell you how many conversations with my girlfriends started out just like this, “let me tell you about this guy.” While the conversation about those guys were always comical, this guy is a little shorter and a lot sweeter.
This is Mr. Lincoln and he stole my heart from day one. He has the looks of his Dada, but has his Momma’s olive skin. Want to know one of the coolest things about being a mom? Seeing your kids take on your characteristics. My oldest son is a lot like his dad, which is a beautiful thing, but this little guy, he’s a lot like me.
He loves to dance, and sing, just like me. I can always count on him to have kitchen dance sessions with me. He’s sensitive, kind hearted, and a total momma’s boy. I was the kid in preschool (and let’s be honest third grade) that had to be rocked by the teacher because I missed my momma. That’s this guy too, through and through.
He doesn’t need a ton of discipline because he just wants to do the right thing. I can’t say anything about my parenting there, that’s just his personality (I hope he always stays that way). He wants to be just like his big bro, has the biggest laugh, and gives the best hugs. I would follow this sweet boy anywhere. (and fight all the girls for him, y’all better watch out)
I remember before having kids, I always pictured myself with a little girl. If my child was going to be just like me, it had to be a girl right? God proved me wrong with this little guy. Turns out little boys can be like their mommas too. So while he won’t wear dresses and let me curl his hair, I hope he’ll always laugh at my jokes and would it be too much to ask that he like shopping with me too?!
