I’m waiting for the super hot and humid days of summer to fully appreciate these light linen shorts. They’re so comfortable and breathable.
Aside from the lightness of the fabric, they’re also a really great length and have zero ride up when you walk. If that’s an issue you have with shorts (it’s a big issue for me) you’ll appreciate the fit of linen shorts.
This post includes both a linen pair and a chambray pair, but they’re the same style and each are equally as lightweight as the other.
Five Ways to Wear Linen Shorts
Linen shorts are relaxed and add a little more volume to your lower half, so when it comes to wearing them I rely on a front tuck (I’m always relying on that front tuck) to give me a little more shape. I also really like the way they look with a fitted tank and a jacket on top, for the cooler summer nights and what’s left of spring. These comfy shorts would be equally cute thrown on over a swimsuit for pool days.
Dressed Up
I first wore these shorts on the blog with a white blazer and I really love how nicely these shorts dress up. This outfit is simple with a black tank top and a pair of heeled sandals. I also added a few more accessories to dress it up a bit more. Black isn’t a color I wear often, but I just love black and olive together.

Navy and Chambray
Wear this one out to dinner (hopefully) this summer. If there is no going out, go ahead and rock it at home with a little take out. I think this otherwise simple outfit is dressed up by the sleeves of my top and the sparkle of my sandals.

With Sneakers
These little sneakers have quickly become something I want to wear all the time. I started going back in to work last week and wore them with a cute dress! Swap the sneakers for a pair of sandals if you want to look a little less casual.

With a Blazer
I sung the praises of this blazer in a previous post and wore it in a very similar way. I just love how well it dresses up any outfit! J.Crew declaring bankruptcy makes me sad as it’s a petite friendly brand I love and wear often (Madewell included). However, I think it’s the reason this blazer has been going on and off of really awesome sales lately. Catch it if you can! I’m going to link a few more options for you as well.

With Tie-Dye
When it comes to getting dressed during the summer, I tend to keep it simple. Who wants tons of layers when it’s hot out? However, I love the way these shorts look with a little extra layer. So, for spring and summer evenings, try tying a top around your waist.

I have lots of new summer content planned for the near future. With the delays in shipping and some recent orders being total fails a lot of my recent style sessions have been mix and matches of similar items. But, hey, no shame in showing how you can get a little more from the same piece!
Last weekend I received so many fun requests. You’ll be seeing style sessions for maxi dresses, summer dresses, denim shorts, white tees and mom jeans (if I find a good fit) soon!
