Today is my birthday, and as I type this, the snow is falling outside. It’s the perfect end to a great birthday weekend. You’ll read this on Monday, but I’m writing this on Sunday. You may remember from last year I shared that every year we throw a tacky sweater party on my birthday, but this was the first year we decided not to. Life has been really hectic and tiring lately, so all I wanted for my birthday was a nice and relaxing weekend, and that’s exactly what I got. Thursday I treated myself to a major haircut. Sometimes you just need a change, and I had enough of the constant tangles from my long hair, so I chopped it all off! I’m still getting used to it, but it feels 1000x better, and takes all of five minutes to dry and style, so I don’t regret it one bit! The weekend started out with making Christmas cookies with the boys on Friday night, then on Saturday I did a little shopping, and ended the night at King’s Dominion Winterfest with my best friends. It was cold as all get out, but it was perfect!
Back to that shopping. I ended up exchanging my Chateau Parka after finally getting it in the mail a few days ago. I originally ordered it in petite 0, but the sleeves were short and the shoulders were so tight I felt like I couldn’t move. I went to the store and tried on the regular 00 which ended up being the perfect fit! Plus, in store it was 60% off because I’m a card member, so it was a win! The parka is just as wonderful as everyone says it is, so warm, well made and it will be a classic coat that will last through many years.
I popped into LOFT and took a few things home with me, and snapped a few pictures of my favorites! I don’t get to shop in store often, my kids are wild and non-cooperative shoppers. Steven took the kids to play in the mall, while I shopped and for real, it was a treat for me! So many of the things I tried on were things I would have skipped online. Here are just a few of my favorites:
LOFT Winter Try-On for Petites

You can’t tell in this picture, but the pants I’m wearing are actually a beautiful green. I ordered the burgundy pair a few weeks ago and loved them, so I wanted to try the green pair as well. This was a prime example of how something looks better in person than it does online, the color online looks kind of teal, but in person the pants are darker and a prettier color. You can’t see in the picture because of my boots, but they have a fringe hem, which is a really cute detail, and they’re a great length for a petite girl like me. I love them because they’re perfect for my office, and are seriously so comfortable! Although I normally wear curvy in LOFT’s pants, this pair is modern and there isn’t any issue with tightness in the hips. Although I loved this cute little sweater I tried with them. I recently purchased this sweater, which is too similar for me to justify the purchase. (wearing it on Instagram here) I tried on the sweater in my normal size, and loved the fit, plus it is very soft. My only complaint is it is a tad thin, you can see my tank top underneath.

Next, I tried this pretty little tunic top. I love the knit of this sweater, and see it being one that lasts and doesn’t pill too easily. I tried on my typical size, petite xxs and found the length to be a perfect tunic length.

This is another top that was better in person that it is online. I love the color, but dare I say it, I don’t love the ruffle on the sleeves. I normally love a good ruffle, but this one reminds me too much of the ruffle on the top of little girls socks. High points of the sweater is the well made knit that I think would be long lasting, and the pretty shade of purple.

I saved my very favorites for last! This winter floral tank and textured open cardigan. I tried on and purchased the cardigan in regular xs and love the cozy oversized fit. My favorite part is the knit. LOFT makes really great sweaters that don’t pill easily and I love that. Y’all know I can’t stand when a sweater pills. This is another item I would have skipped online, but loved in the store. I should make it to the store more often!
It’s always hard to choose favorites at LOFT because I can typically find a lot of things I love, I’m thankful they have a great selection of petites! So, tell me, have you tried on any of the same things lately? Found something to love in this post?
