Love Your Baby Bump Prenatal Workout

Oh heyyyyy, I finally did what I’ve been meaning to do this entire pregnancy, put together a prenatal workout! I will have two different workouts for you, both will be a total body toning circuit. Pregnancy is a great time to be active and focus on your health, but of course, the top priority is to take care of yourself and to take it easy. So, never push yourself to extremes with your fitness while pregnant.

Personally, I’ve stuck to two days a week of toning and light activity like walking or playing with my toddler on the other days. To be safe, I took my weights down significantly and use mostly 5 lb dumbbells with higher repetitions. If you were not active prior to pregnancy, this workout is best done without weights at all, you have enough added weight naturally in your belly!

The great thing about this workout, it works whether you’re pregnant or not! If you’re not pregnant and more advanced, you can use heavier weights. Have fun!

Well I am past the age of pregnancy but I certainly support exercise while pregnant. I spent 12 years as a labor nurse and could always tell when a woman worked out during pregnancy. She simply was in better shape for the rigors of delivery. I taught fitness classes during my pregnancy and delivered my daughter in 4 hours with no pain meds. I attribute it to exercise and the fact that my hubby is a chiropractor(: Susan

Great prenatal workout! I was surprised how much energy I had in the last trimester of my pregnancy. I loved working out after the first month and thankfully all that hard work paid off and made for an easy and quick labor.
