Madewell Denim Three Ways
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Kick-Out Crop Jeans
My current favorite style of denim at Madewell is the Kick-Out Crop. These mid-rise jeans have a slim fit through the hips and thighs and a slight flare at the ankle. The sizing and inseam measurement can vary between different washes, but this charcoal pair I’m wearing here has a 9″ rise and a 25.5″ inseam in petite. This wash runs small, so I recommend a size up. I paired the jeans with one of their vintage t-shirts and a cropped chino top. The vintage t-shirt has a classic roomy fit and is thick, so it’s not see-through. The chino top has a true to size fit (I have to cuff the sleeves) and looks great worn open or buttoned.

’90s Straight Jeans
The ’90s Straight Jeans have a classic 90s shape, rigid denim, a touch of comfortable stretch, and a full-length inseam. The jeans have a 10″ rise and a 28″ inseam in petite. This inseam works best for me with a low-heeled pair of boots, but I can also wear them with flats with a bit of bunching at the foot. They are true to size. I love how these jeans look with boots and the booty lift in the back. My exact wash is sold out, but three other washes are available (and I’m sure new washes will be released through the season). I paired the jeans here with a denim top that has a true-to-size fit, layered with the same vintage t-shirt in the above outfit. My boots and bag are also from Madewell but are not included in the sale.

Emmett Wide-Leg Jeans
If you’re looking for a pair of wide-leg jeans you can wear with flats, the Emmett Wide-Leg Jeans are one to try. In petite, these jeans have a 9 3/4″ rise and a 27.5″ inseam. I love this style’s clean welt pockets, but I find them to run large and ride up a bit in the back when I walk (possibly because they’re a little bit big on me). This cream style has sold out, but these jeans come in another wash. I paired the jeans here with a vintage t-shirt and the washed motorcycle jacket. If you’re looking for a leather jacket, this one is an investment but has a great fit (aside from the sleeves, which are still a little bit long). I’m wearing it here in XXS (Regular sizing) in Dried Cedar. The jacket is part of the sale.
