I’m gearing up for a new petite-friendly denim guide for fall, starting with a review of some of my favorites from Madewell. When it comes to denim, Madewell is a top brand for me. Their jeans not only fit me well overall, but they also have little details that make them so good. Reinforced magic front pockets panels in the front for extra hold-in, and perfectly sized back pockets with lift you up back rise for the most flattering fit all around. They’re also some of the longest lasting pairs of jeans I have in my closet (because they’re so well-made). I have many pairs of Madewell jeans and I find each pair to be unique in fit, wash, and length, so while I’m sharing specific styles in the post, be aware that in terms of fit and wear, I’m only speaking to the exact pair I link in this post.

Madewell Fall Denim
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Stovepipe
- Inseam: 26.5″
- Rise: 9.5″ mid-rise
The stovepipe is my top choice for daily wear. They have a slim leg that I find the easiest to style. The pair in this post has a fall-ready dark wash with comfortable stretch. In general, I find that jeans that have stretch hold their shape better than rigid cotton jeans, which tend to stretch the most with wear. This pair will hold its shape well. If you’re in between sizes I would go down a size in this pair.

Perfect Vintage
- Inseam: 26.5″
- Rise: 10″
The Perfect Vintage is another style I personally wear the most often. While most of my Perfect Vintage styles are more cropped, this pair is full-length. This pair also has a little bit of stretch, but less than the stovepipe, and will loosen some with wear. They are overall true to size.

Kick Out Crop Jeans
- Inseam: 25.5″
- Rise: 8 3/4″
If you love mid-rise with a little cropped flare, you’ll love the Kick Out Crop. They have a comfortable stretch and are a deep black, which I love! Overall, I find my black jeans from Madewell fade the least over time. This pair of true to size overall.

Perfect Vintage Wide Leg
- Inseam: 27.5″
- Rise: 9 3/4″
The Perfect Vintage fit I love up top, with a trendy relaxed wide leg. My favorite part about these jeans is the petite-friendly inseam that can be worn with flats. They’re rigid denim so I expect these will stretch out some with wear and I would recommend a size down.
