MOTHER denim is a popular premium denim brand known for comfortable jeans with a flattering fit. Last year, they released a line of petite denim reproportioned for petite frames. Petite refers to height, not size, so petite clothing has lower rises, different knee placement, and shorter inseams! Today, I’m reviewing a few of their popular styles.

MOTHER Petite Denim Review
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Overall Review of MOTHER Denim
Overall, each pair I tried was very stretchy and comfortable. The denim holds its shape and has a magic booty lift on each pair. The denim on the four styles I tried is lightweight. Being stretchy and lightweight, they make for a really comfortable pair of jeans in every style!
MOTHER Lil’ Mid Rise Rambler

This is a wide, ankle straight style. It has a mid 9″ rise, and in petite, it has a 25.5″ inseam. I noted on their website that the inseam measurements varied with washes, so keep an eye on the description when picking a pair. This style is a great length to wear with boots!

MOTHER Lil’ Mid Rise Dazzler

This mid-rise option is a great everyday pair of jeans. They are slim, have a straight style, and are true to size overall. I find them to be very comfortable and at my height, the 25.5″ inseam is just long enough to pair these with boots.

MOTHER Lil’ Insider Crop Fray

The Insider Crop Fray is a step hem style. They have a 9″ rise and a 24″ inseam (to the shortest part of the hem). They run small, so I would recommend a size up. The hem is unique but not my personal favorite. The next pair in the lineup has a similar fit without the step hem.

MOTHER Lil’ Hustler Ankle Fray

The Hustler style is a cropped flare style that is fitted through the hips and thighs with a slight flare at the ankle. They come in a raw hem (fray) and clean hem option. These jeans are noted to have a 10.5″ rise on the brand site, but I get an 11″ rise measurement on the pair I bought. Not sure where that variation comes from, but these are definitely very high rise. I find them to be true to size overall, unless you’re in between sizes – then I would go up a size.

I’ve tried the Hustler style in the past, but this was my first try of all other styles. Overall, I’m excited to have this petite option and think they’re a worthy investment if you’re interested in premium denim. If we’re picking favorites from this lineup, it’s a tie for me between the Hustler and Mid-Rise Dazzler.
