In addition to my seasonal denim guides, this year I’ll also be continuing my petite pants guides. In this guide you’ll find options that fit me without hemming (at 4’10”). Although we may be similar in height, everyone has different proportions, so to help you find the best pair for you, I share the rise and inseam measurements for each pair. Along with my measurements and the size that I’m wearing. In choosing the styles I picked the most requested styles and tried my best to find different budget options.

No-Hem Pants for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Splendid Angie Wide Leg Crop Pants
- Inseam: 26″ regular sizing
- Rise: 11″
With summer right around the corner, breezy wide-leg pants are top of the requests coming into my inbox. The pair I found that is perfect for me all around is surprisingly, not petite at all, but a cropped pair from Splendid. There are so many great things about these pants, they’re light in color, but not see-through. They’re a linen blend, which keeps them lightweight, but not scratchy or overly wrinkle prone. They’re comfortable and I highly recommend them. I’m wearing them in XS and find them to be true to size.
One thing to note with inseam on a pair of pants like this – you wear them lower than you would a pair of jeans. So the crotch tends to hang lower; a 26″ inseam on these pants is going to be longer on your legs than a 26″ inseam on a pair of jeans.

Old Navy Playa Pants
- Inseam: 26″ in petite
- Rise: 11″
Old Navy Playa Pants have a great petite. They’re lightweight and have a smooth waistband at the front and are stretchy at the back. There are several color options in these pants as well. I’m wearing them in Petite XS and they fit me well overall. My only complaint about these pants is they wrinkle easily and are a little bit thin.

Athleta Venice Joggers
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 11″
Athleta Venice Mid Rise Joggers are a perfect high rise on me. I love the soft stretchy waistband, similar to a pair of leggings. The fabric is lightweight and breathable so these joggers will also be great into the spring and early summer. I find them to be true to size and wear them in Petite XXS. Spanx Cropped Twill Pants
- Inseam: 24″ in petite
- Rise: 9.5″
I’ve tried several of Spanx pants and the fit is not always spot on (often too long for me), but I have had luck with a few styles. One is the Cropped Wide-Leg Pants. I would say these pants run small in general, but a size up was too big for me. So, I would go with your true size, unless you’re on the edge of a size, then I would go up one. The pants have a 9.5″ rise and a 24″ inseam. They are thick and have slight compression through the hips and waist (to give you that smooth Spanx look). LOFT Monroe Slim Chino Pants
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 9.5″
I went back and forth about including these pants because they aren’t a perfect fit for me through the waist, but if you’re willing to wear a belt, these pants fit great everywhere else. They’re a classic chino style, slim through the leg and have a great length. Despite the large waist, sizing down doesn’t work well so if you want to try these just opt for a belt.

Abercrombie Harper Tailored Pants in Crepe
- Inseam: 27″ in short
- Rise: 9.5″
Abercrombie and Ann Taylor have been my go-to places to check for wide leg trousers. Both have great options, unfortunately neither have delivered on a pair that I can wear with flats. When it comes to Abercrombie, I love their popular Sloan trousers, you can see them in this post. The pair I have in this post is the Harper style. They are pleated in the front like the Sloan pants, but are less “puffy” overall. I find the Harper pants to border on running large, so I would size down if you’re in between sizes. I’m wearing my true size and need a belt to keep them from slipping down. In crepe they are floaty and comfortable to wear and don’t wrinkle easily. The 27″ inseam is a little bit long on me with flats, but they work well with a low heel.

Old Navy Pixie Ankle Straight Pants

- Rise: 9″
Old Navy Pixie pants are a great budget friendly option for petites. The Pixie line has a few different styles, but to note, not all of them work well for me. I can wear the petite ankle length in the skinny and straight styles, and the bootcut style with a heel. The full length Pixie pants are too long for me. The ankle straight is my personal favorite because it has the most flattering cut for my shape. They have a 9″ rise, are a little forgiving through the hips, and I love the 25″ inseam. They come in multiple color options and are overall true to size.

Old Navy Pixie Skinny Pants
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 8.5″
The Pixie skinny checks all the boxes if you’re looking for a mid-rise skinny option you can wear to work. They’re affordable, come in lots of color options, and are comfortable too. These stretch pants have an 8.5″ rise and a 25″ inseam in petite.

Ann Taylor Side Zip Ankle Pants
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 11″
Ann Taylor Side Zip Pants have a high rise and a straight leg. They’re true to size and come in multiple colors (the other colors are under other listings on the Ann Taylor site). My favorite things about these pants are the lining, which keeps them from being see-through and helps them lay nicely on your body, and the wearable crepe fabric. Crepe doesn’t wrinkle easily so these pants are easy to care for.

J.Crew Factory Sailor Pants
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 9″
This style strikes me as one that is seasonal, but it’s a great option if you can snag a pair while they’re in stock. These pants have a straight leg, and in the back they have a comfortable elastic waistband. I find them to be true to size overall. Since they are a linen blend, the fabric is a little bit rough and wrinkles some with wear.
