No-Hem Petite Jeans for Fall

Another season, another petite-friendly denim guide! I share a denim guide every season with multiple pairs of jeans that fit me without hemming (at 4’10”). Although we may be similar in height, everyone has different proportions, so to help you find the best pair for you, I share the rise and inseam measurements for each pair. I stuck with mostly dark wash slim/straight styles for this denim guide, but I did include one great pair of wide-leg jeans. My goal was to offer different price points, and different measurements over multiple different styles. Since many of these jeans go on sale and are less than the original price, I marked each one as “under $XXX” so you can get an idea of their full-price before click-through. If you’re looking for more denim styles for petites, you may like my fall denim guide from last year.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.

Universal Thread High Rise 90s Slim

  • Size: 00 Short
  • Rise: 10.5”
  • Inseam: 26”
  • Under $35

If you’re looking for an affordable option, this pair from Target is a great option. The denim is rigid overall and a little bit roomy on me through the legs, but tight through the waist. You may want to try a size up for a better fit through the waist. For reference, I’ve found most all of the jeans I’ve tried from Target’s Universal Thread brand fits me well in short (to find short sizes online scroll to the right on the sizes). You can see more petite-friendly jeans from Target in this post.

Shoe Options: Works well with slim booties (tucked under the leg), sneakers, flats, and heels.

J.Crew Factory Classic Vintage

  • Size: 24 P
  • Rise: 10”
  • Inseam: 24”
  • Under $70

All of the jeans in this post are top picks for me, but I especially love wearing this pair. I personally prefer a high-rise and this pair holds you in without being too tight. I love the dark wash and cropped length. They’re rigid with stretch and I find them to be true to size. The lighting in my photo is washing out the jeans, they’re closer to the website color in person, a dark blue.

Shoe Options: Works well with slim booties (tucked under the leg or a pair that meets the hem of the jeans), sneakers, flats, and heels.

J.Crew Factory Mid-Rise Flare Crop

  • Size: 24P
  • Rise: 8.5”
  • Inseam: 25”
  • Under $70

If you love mid-rise jeans, these have the lowest rise on the list. They’re stretchy and comfortable and I love the clean dark wash. They’re stretchy denim and are true to size. I also love these jeans in black, you can see them styled in this post.

Shoe Options: Cropped flares look best to me when worn with flats, heels and sneakers. This pair is a little too short, but longer cropped flares (on me 26″) also work with a slim bootie tucked under the leg.

Abercrombie The Mom High Rise

  • Size: 24/00 Extra Short
  • Rise: 10”
  • Inseam: 24”
  • Under $100

This pair is one of the most comfortable pairs on the list. They have a high rise, but the denim isn’t restrictive (it also loosens with wear). I tried them in both short and extra short and the extra short looked best on me with a tapered leg. They’re true to size overall.

Shoe Options: Booties that meet the hem, sneakers, heels, and flats.

Abercrombie The 90s Relaxed Jean

  • Size: 24 Extra Short (I would choose short to wear with heels)
  • Rise: 10″
  • Inseam: 27″
  • Under $100

When it comes to wide-leg jeans, this pair has become my overall favorite. They have a high rise and pinched waist that helps balance the wide legs. They also look really great in the back and hug your hips. I find them to be true to size overall with rigid, light stretch denim. If you prefer a lower rise, I also like this pair from Madewell. Also stay tuned for a post styling these jeans a few different ways.

Shoe Options: In Extra Short, these jeans look best with flats or low-heeled shoes, if you want to wear a taller heel or boots, I would choose a longer length.

Madewell Stovepipe

  • Size: Petite 24 (size down if in between sizes)
  • Inseam: 26.5″
  • Rise: 9.5″ mid-rise
  • Under $140

The stovepipe is a great choice for daily wear. They have a slim leg that I find the easiest to style. The pair in this post has a fall-ready dark wash with comfortable stretch. In general, I find that jeans that have stretch hold their shape better than rigid cotton jeans, which tend to stretch the most with wear. This pair will hold its shape well. If you’re in between sizes I would go down a size in this pair.

Shoe Options: Works well with slim booties (tucked under the leg), sneakers, flats, and heels.

Madewell Perfect Vintage

  • Size: Petite 24 (tts)
  • Inseam: 26.5″
  • Rise: 10″
  • Under $140

These Perfect Vintage straight jeans have rigid denim with light stretch. They’re a comfortable high-rise and the full-length will be perfect for wearing with a slim shaft bootie in the fall. They are overall true to size.

Shoe Options: Works well with slim booties (tucked under the leg), sneakers, flats, and heels.

J.Crew Vintage Slim Straight

  • Size: 24P
  • Rise: 10″
  • Inseam: 26.5
  • Under $130

Shoe Options: Works well with sneakers, flats, and heels. The length and slim leg make this pair a little harder to wear with booties.

The clean dark wash and comfortable stretch make this pair great for wearing to work. I like the classic straight leg and high-rise. Since this pair comes down to the top of my foot and has a slim leg (harder to tuck a bootie under) they look best with shoes that show a little skin, such as sandals, loafers, and ballet flats.
