The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the most anticipated sales of the season. It’s one of the few sales where you can grab items for the next season at a discount. The sale is competitive, with the most popular items selling out fast. To add to the competition, cardholders always get first dibs, and many items will sell out before the sale even opens to everyone. So, it takes a little planning if you want to snag your favorites.

The sale starts for cardholders based on their status (a.k.a, how much they’ve spent at Nordstrom throughout the year).

N Sale Shopping Tips:
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is always popular, and items sell out quickly.
- Preview the sale now and start adding your favorites to your wishlist. The wishlist will save you time on sale day. Add all your favorites with the correct sizes because you’ll add them to your cart straight from the wishlist.
- When your shopping window opens, be one of the first online at 12:01 am ET. It may sound crazy, and maybe it is, but if you wait – the most popular items will be sold out.
- Once you’ve added your wishlist items to your cart, check out as fast as possible—or they may sell out. Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns, so I check out my top picks first and then go back and browse a little slower for anything I may have missed.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Top Picks
There aren’t many petite-specific items in the sale, but most years, I still find things I love. That said, I always go for the shoes first. I love to go for the sneakers and boots in particular because they’re both things you may not find easily on sale later in the season.
N Sale Boots and Shoes Picks
I selected a few sneakers I have and love from ON and New Balance that will be part of the sale, as well as other styles from brands like Hoka and Adidas that I love and think are worth a try.

For boots and shoes, I chose options that will be versatile with many fall and winter outfits, like these slim chelsea boots and pointed-toe boots. I also chose a couple of water-resistant options here and here for my friends who live in rainy and snowy areas. For all of the knee-high options, I checked the shaft heights and picked options that were around 15″ tall, which typically works for me.

Bags & Accessories
Next to shoes, I go for bags and accessories. I love my Beis luggage, so I selected some pieces that will be on sale. I also love the resurgence of the preppy Longchamp bags and think the neutral Zella bag makes a great casual outfit companion.

Jeans and Pants
I don’t like to recommend things I haven’t personally tried, but since I don’t live near a Nordstrom, I have to place an order and wait to receive it before I can review any of the sale items for you. So, I’m sharing the preliminary picks I’ve selected based on their measurements and will follow up with a try-on of the ones that worked well (and didn’t sell out). Only the Wit & Wisdom jeans and pants come in petite, but sometimes their jeans are too long for me; just a heads up. The other jeans I chose all have inseams that I think will work (but will not fit the way they fit the tall model – picture the cropped styles being full-length).

Tops and Sweaters
It’s hard to think about sweaters in the middle of summer, but I found a few tops and sweaters that I think will be great transitional pieces. I also selected a cashmere option, which makes a great closet staple. It looks cozy and a little oversized.
